Weekend Catch-Up # 26

weekend post 26

Only a few more weeks and it will be Spring. Anyone else excited about it? I am totally ready to pull my sandals out of the closet and go for long walks on the beach. Here’s the weekly recap…

Empties and Repurchased. This week I ran out of a few skincare favorites that I promptly repurchased (yep, that is why I posted this pic on Instagram). My skin has been doing really well so I am not ready to switch any products (if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?). I finished both a Yuli Cocoon Elixir and a Yuli Liquid Courage Serum.

Skincare Routine. And that is why I haven’t wrote any update about my skincare routine in a while. Aside from a few new treatments (manly face masks), I haven’t been using anything new. I am still cleansing with the Halcyon cleanser, misting with Cocoon Elixir or MUN Rose toner, and then applying the Liquid Courage AM and PM. At night I use the Modern Alchemist only on selected area of my face(sides of eyes/mouth). I know, how boring of me! but I am quite happy with my skin right now. Have you ever found a routine that worked perfectly for you? If yes, which products were involved?

Lipstick Love. This week I started to use a Nudus lipstick in the shade, Naked*. I am going through a smokey eye phase, so I have been reaching for nude lip colors more than anything. Naked is a  brownish-nude that is very similar to my natural lip color, except that it is more brown and it has a subtle gold shimmer (you can’t see the shimmer unless you stand at kissing distance). It’s creamy and moisturizing but it does not slip off my lips and has very good lasting power. If you are into brown-ish nudes, this is a lovely one. Love the packaging, too! Have you seen the Nudus lipstick collection? You can find it here.

Lily Lolo Eye Palette*. This week I started to use this compact palette called Laid Bare and I have been quite pleased with it so far. The quality of the eyeshadow is good; they are fairly pigmented and easy to blend. It’s a great option for neutral lovers (some cool-toned beige, browns, and even a gray color), and at $34, it is very affordable. I will continue to use it and write a more in depth review with photos.

Hand Cream with SPF. If you are concerned with aging hands and dark spots, Jane Iredale has recently launched a hand cream with SPF 15 and antioxidants called Hand Drink*. It is very light in texture, not greasy at all, and overall makes my hands very comfortable. It does have a bit of that sunscreen smell to it, but it is not offensive. I have never used a hand cream with broad spectrum protection, but it is something I see myself using a lot in the next few months while I am spending more time outdoors. Check it out here.

Free Lip Treat. The Detox Market is currently offering a free, full-size lip treat with any purchase. You can browse their selection of products here.

I hope you have a lovely, cozy week!
