Weekend Catch-Up #22

Weekly Catch-Up #22

The past week was a little too exciting for me. I am going to mix a bit of life with the usual beauty recap.

Empties. Not completely empty, but I am down to my last few scoops of the de Mamiel Rosey Lip Balm*. I have only had it for a couple of months, so I finished it up quickly (I rarely finish a lip balm). I thought it was excellent for conditioning and repairing the lips, and I will definitely get more it in the future. One of the best lip balms I have tried, except for the taste of it which is a tad bitter (because of the oils in it).

ULTA Lash Haul. A few days ago I went to Ulta to buy my favorite falsies, namely the Eylure Katie Perry in Lovely Lolita and Sweetie Pie, which were on sale. These are the only lash strips I wear because they look like my lashes but better. They are quite short so they don’t look fake and they are not too voluminous either. They really look like my lashes if they were a bit more full. If you have never used false lashes because you do not want to seem like you’re wearing falsies, try these or the Ardell Short Duralash Flare individual lashes. For lash glue, I use the Georgie Beauty Lash Glue (you can find it at Nordstrom) which is free of most of the questionable ingredients found in other lash glues; such as formaldehyde, phthalates, and parabens ( and it works great). I uploaded a close-up where I wear the Lovely Lolita lashes here.

I went to Ulta to buy lashes, but as usual I exited the store with a few extra things. I needed a new hand cream so I picked the 100% Percent Pure Virgin Coconut Hand Buttercream. Lovely texture, but the scent is so so sweet. In my opinion, a little too strong for very sensitive noses, while it would be great for people who like products that smell like cake. I also picked a few makeup brushes, (did you know that Real Techniques launched a new line of brushes called Bold Metals? You can check them out here).

After leaving Ulta, I was on my way to my husband’s office to bring him some goodies I picked up at the bakery when I was involved in a serious car accident that left my car destroyed. I was able to get out of the car while smoke was coming out of it, just like in a crazy action movie, while rain was pouring down, (just so the whole action scene would be complete). Thankfully, I am not doing too bad, beside my muscles aching all over my body and a thin mustache-like bruise on my upper lip (how cool). I do, however, still need to get a few things checked out and I can’t say that I am totally over the shock. It was a little too exciting, and the first time I experienced any type of car accident. You can never be too cautious!

Blush Love. Since the day of the accident, I have been feeling pretty awful and looking like I got hit by a train. In the attempt to look a bit happier, I have been faking a rosey flush on my cheeks with La Bella Figura’s cream blush in Just Jenna*, (you may remember it from my August Favorites). I love Just Jenna because it is a pink-rosey color that looks equally beautiful on lips and cheeks. On my cheeks it lasts throughout the day, while  have to re-apply after I eat, drink, etc. on my lips. Either way, I have been using it every single day.

New Launch. I am excited to report that this week Kahina Giving Beauty launched a Lip and Face Balm*. It contains fantastic ingredients, such as Immortelle, Calendula, Blue Tansy, Argan Oil, & more. It is currently available exclusively at the official Kahina website. I am so excited to try it! If it is half as great as the Kahina Fez Hand and Body Balm, then it is going to be amazing.

Sales. This week The Detox Market is offering 15% off their entire scent collection, both personal fragrance and home fragrance. They have Osmia Organics, Lurk, Vered Botanicals, Honore Des Pres, and Lotus Wei perfumes. You can browse the fragrances here.

Giveaway. You can still enter my MUN No. 11 Anarose Rejuvenating Rose Toner giveaway. Just click here and follow the instructions.

I hope you had a great week! Stay safe ♥
