Catch-Up #46

Catch-Up #46

I hope you all had a lovely week! Although I posted a catch-up only a few days ago, there were a couple of things that I wanted to share + a lovely giveaway for all of you lacquer lovers!

Scar be gone?! Last week I began to notice that a stubborn scar that used to be on my forehead was finally gone. The interesting thing is that a few weeks ago I was looking at the scar (which was caused by this pimple here) and felt so upset because it was still there (it was there for about a year). That had me wondering how and if I had helped it go away, and the only thing I could think of is that I have been using the Yuli Pure mask quite often over the past two months (about 4 times a week). Yuli recommends using it only once or twice a week, but I have been using it more often and my skin has never looked better. While I am not certain that the mask made the scar fade away, I do think that it is the one product that must have made the biggest difference, together with diligent cleansing (proper, daily cleansing exfoliates the skin gently). If you have never tried the Yuli Pure mask, or if you are due to purchase a new face mask, I do highly recommend this one. You can find it at Spirit Beauty Lounge. Have any of you who use the Pure mask noticed dramatic improvements, too? I Would love to know.

..and pimples dry out. I think that I already mentioned this in the past, but another mask I swear by (and I had the chance to put to the test once again last week) is the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. I don’t use it much as a face mask, but I love to use it as spot remover. Whenever a tiny whitehead appears on my face, I put a little product on the spot and keep it on as long as possible (even overnight, although it peels off after a couple of hours). It dries out the pimple and prevents it from growing. It contains pomegranate enzymes which help to loosen up dead skin cells and eliminates blemishes.

Alima eye brightening pencil. Alima Pure recently launched an eye pencil color called Paper* that can be used as inner rim brightener. It’s not exactly “flesh-toned” as most brands have been making this type of pencils, but it’s not a chalky white either; it sits right there in between. Personally, brightening my inner rim is a step I rarely forget about when I do my makeup, because I find that it “erases” the redness of tired eyes, gives a more fresh, wide awake appearance (I can always use a little help in that department), and makes the eye color stand out nicely. So far, I am really liking this one from Alima; it does not irritate my eyes and it lasts nicely as well. I plan to include it in a fotd to give you a better idea of what it looks like when applied. You can find the Alima Pure Eye Pencil here.

New Ellovi Butter. Ellovi Skin just launched a new body butter and lip balm* that are scented with Chamomile. You guys know I love anything chamomile, so this was a real treat to me. Both products are made with only few, raw, wild harvested/organic ingredients, and they are rich moisturizers. So far, I have tried three of the scents available and have never been disappointed. You can check out the new Chamomile scent at Ellovi’s website. You can also find a selection of Ellovi products (Vanilla, Mint Chocolate, and Original scent) at Petit Vour. If you have dry skin, these do the job well and are also quite affordable.
