I am definitely late on this because Summer is almost officially gone, but here in the South it will actually feel like Summer for at least another two months. Honestly, most days I cannot stand the thought of wearing much product on my face, because I know that by the time I step out of my cool and dry home with a nicely blended layer of product on my face, it will mix with sweat, look greasy, and feel extremely uncomfortable.
Base: the only face products that I have been wearing lately are:
1. the Suntegrity 5-in-1 Natural Moisturizing Tinted Face Sunscree SPF 30 in the shade Golden Light, on days that I must wear sunscreen, because it provides excellent protection and a little color.
2. the 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer, when I can only bear weightless product on my face, and when I can get away with little coverage and lower SPF.
3. the Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Glow Mineral BB Cream (with SPF 25) in shade #5 mixed with #7, which lasts really well even on the hottest days and offers very good coverage, but feels a bit heavy on the skin.
4. RMS Beauty Un Powder. My T-Zone is always oily so setting powder is not an option, it is a necessity. The Un-powder is excellent for oil-control, and the finish is beautiful. It makes the skin look softer and smoother.
Blush/Bronzer: I have been more into cream blushes vs. powders for the past month or so, mainly because I have not had much time to get ready. Patting a little color takes less time and effort than blending a powder with a brush. The two most loved ones have been the Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Desired Glow, used more as a bronzer than as a blush, and the RMS Beauty Lip2cheek in Curious Orange, to get a soft pop of peach color on my cheeks. I like this combo very much and it lasts surprisingly well throughout the day.
Brows: I have been filling them with a matte eye shadow from Alima Pure in the shade Raven. I also apply a tiny amount of brow gel from Jane Iredale in Blonde to lock color and hairs in place, just so my brows do not magically disappear in the middle of a lunch conversation.
Eye Shadow: I mix Charmed, Wisdom, and Magnetic from Kjaer Weis for an easy neutral look. I am also loving the new Alima Pure eye shadows that I mentioned in my august favorites, Breathless* and Flashback*; I use them when I want a little shimmer.
Liner: I am currently using the Lily Lolo Eye Pencil in Black and the new Alima Pure eye pencil in Coffee*. Not completely smudge-proof, but great to use as a base for eye shadow.
Mascara: My two mascaras of choice have been the Kjaer Weis and the W3LL People. The Kjaer Weis Mascara gives me natural-looking lashes and holds the curl better; the W3LL People Mascara gives me a little extra volume and definition, but does not hold the curl as much. Both are great options for the daytime because they give some definition and a more thick look, but do not smudge under my eyes. That is the most important thing.
Lips: Well, well. Here’s what I have been wearing the most, *takes a deep breathe*: Ilia Nobody’s Baby, Shell Shock, In My Room, Around the World (their newest launch), La Bella Figura Just Jenna*, and my most recent purchase, Ilia Perfect Day. Some say that when you wear the right lipstick it gives the impression that you have a whole face of makeup on, you agree? I conveniently believe so.
