If you live in the Northern Hemisphere (kind of neighbors, aren’t we?), hang in there with me: we are one week closer to Spring! Among beautiful Spring-y things like warm, longer days and peonies, I am super-excited about product launches and an upcoming trip home 🇮🇹, finally.
Empties. This week I ran out of two face masks that I love and have repurchased multiple times (💸) and will most definitely buy again.
The first one is my favorite spot treatment, the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. With my previous jar of this mask, I had to toss it away before it was finished because I only used it as a spot treatment. I don’t get spots frequently (very thankful about them, obvs.), but it was such a shame to throw it away before it had expired. With this jar, instead, I committed to use it at least once a week as face mask, so I used it all up. My favorite use for it remains as a spot remover and not as a whole face mask. It is the most effective product I have tried for that purpose, and it always, always does the trick for me. I apply it on pimples when they first appear and leave it on for as long as possible (usually overnight). That prevents small blemishes from growing into enraged, erupting volcanos-type of pimples. You can find it here.
The other mask I ran out of is the Yuli Pure Mask (full review here). It is a fantastic mask for detoxifying the skin gently. Many of the detoxifying masks that I have tried are too harsh for my skin, and leave it irritated. This mask, does the job perfectly and leaves my skin completely calm. My favorite way to use it is by mixing it with the Yuli Halcyon cleanser, which gives it a gel-like consistency. Sublime.
Honest Beauty Eyeliners. So I spent a little too much time looking at Jessica Alba wearing Honest Beauty makeup (her face can sell anything, can’t it). I inevitably gave in and went back for more Honest Beauty products. I did have a good excuse, however, since eyeliners have to be replaced frequently (similarly to mascara) and I was almost due to buy a new one. I purchased Truly Black (matte black) and Truly Cocoa (dark, chocolate brown) and I have, so far, liked them very much. They are creamy, but not too creamy, and pigmented. The also come with a smudgy sponge at one end (why don’t all brands do that?!). As far as longevity, they have been holding up well. I will have to use them a little longer for a full-review, and I hope they will pass the longevity test during Florida’s W&W (wet & warm) Spring/Summer. Available at Honest Beauty and (surprise, surprise!) at Ulta.
Blissoma Scentless Deodorant. In case you missed my Snapchat story (add me: genuineglow 👻), I have been using this scent-free deodorant stick*, and it has been working great. Sure, it looks gray & grainy, but it works well and it does not cause any irritation (even though it contains baking soda). As Blissoma kindly commented on Instagram, the percentage of baking soda in their deodorant is pretty low, and the formula is balanced with zinc oxide. It blows my mind how a completely scent-free product contains bad odors effectively, but it does, and it’s a great option for people who cannot use any scented products at all. I received mine with a Petit Vour box, which you can find here. It is also sold individually here.
Jasmine Duo. Due to popular demand and some blogger begging (me), the Kimberlyloc X Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Oil* is back, and it’s got a companion, too. In addition to the heavenly-scented body oil (jasmine, vanilla, and hint of sweet orange) that leaves the skin well moisturized but not greasy at all, the Jasmine duo comes with a body polish (same scent). The body polish contains not only physical exfoliating ingredients, but also purifying ingredients like Kaolin and Lava Clay to give the skin a deep cleanse. If you are on the market for a little self-care item, this is not only beautiful, but also more affordable than most products I have tried. Loving everything Rachel’s Plan Bee I have tried so far (more about it in next week’s catchup). Check out the Jasmine Duo here and grab one before it sells out; brava Kim! 👏🏼
MUN Body Serum. In case you missed the news, MUN Skin recently welcomed a new member into their family of luxury skincare products. No. 7 Ayour Body Toning Serum* is a blend of soothing and repairing plant oils (like Cucumber Seed, Prickly Pear, and Rosehip) with a clean, sophisticated, unisex scent (Lavender, Frankincense). Being that Cucumber Seed oil is a good source of phytosterols, it may help to prevent collagen break down and prevent premature aging cause by UV exposure. For this reason, Mun recommends it for use on sun-damaged skin. I like to use this at night because Lavender has a soothing, calming scent that is perfect after my evening shower before going to bed. Giveaway! Mun Skin is kindly gifting one of my readers with a full-size bottle of this precious serum (valued at $74). To enter the giveaway, head over to this Instagram post, and read the rules. Good luck! Mun also kindly offered a discount code for my readers, so you can use code GGlowMunAyour to receive 15% off.
Henné Lip Balm. In case you missed the post on Insta, the Henné Luxury Lip Balm is now available at leVert Beauty. I highly recommend it if you have a serious case of Winter lips. Use code GG10 to get a 10% discount.
