Catch-up #57 feat. RMS Beauty New Luminizer, Honest Beauty, & more

Catchup 57

I haven’t been this excited about writing a catchup post in a while. I have a few new & noteworthy products to chat about and a very cool giveaway, too. I am also getting back into filming, so if you aren’t subscribed to my Youtube channel yet, you can do so here. Something new should be heading your way soon!

Empties: For the newbies, whenever I use up a beauty product, I like to mention it in this type of post and tell you whether I finished it because I loved it (which is usually the case), or I just committed not to waste it. This week I finished my second bottle of True Nature Botanicals Shampoo, which I still like as much as I did at first. However, after posting on Instagram that I was going to repurchase it, many of you left shampoo suggestions, and in particular, I was recommended three shampoos: the Innersense Pure Harmony Hair Bath, and the Living Libations shampoos, (both the True Blue Spirulina shampoo, and the Sea Buckthorn one).

New Shampoo: So I ended up buying a bottle of Innersense Pure Harmony Hair Bath, which I have already received but I have not used yet (I am actually due today 😏). I still have the True Natural Botanicals Conditioner to use up, so I figured I would continue to use that one. However, last night on Instagram a lovely follower told me that the Innersense Pure Inspiration Daily Conditioner is absolutely worth trying, too. There goes my commitment to finish my other conditioner first! Will get the conditioner and soon let you know how the duo works for my hair. I am not easily talked to into buying new products, am I? 😳.

Treat Collection Lip Products: I must have been asleep, because during a recent online shopping trip at The Detox Market I noticed that Treat Collection launched lip products. And not just a few lip products; 32 lipstick shades and 20 lip glosses!! I know, wow! I will soon give you a sneak peek. Are there any shades that catch your attention? Let me know if there is any color in particular that you would like to see. I will definitely show you some nudes 😎. Available here.

Kahina Beldi Soap: You guys know that I am not into fancy shower gels; I have been using the same foaming castile soap for quite a while (it lasts so long!). I find most shower gels to be unreasonably overpriced (after all, I am just going to rub my body and rinse it off). The new Kahina Beldi soap*, however, is not your typical body wash. It’s not a liquid soap, but a gel-soap made with saponified olive oil whose texture reminds me of jelly, with a more solid consistency. It melts as it is rubbed into the skin and it releases the most uplifting, energizing Eucalyptus aroma, which is great for lazy mornings when I barely make it out of bed. I read that it is especially lovely when used in combination with the Kessa Mitt. It’s still quite expensive for a body wash, but it is one I am more willing to splurge on as a special treat for myself. Giveaway!! Kahina Giving Beauty has kindly offered a Beldi Soap for a giveaway, so if you would like to enter the contest head over to this Instagram post where you will find the details. Good luck!

Honest Beauty Bronzer: The full name is actually Dusk Reflection Luminizing Powder, but I have heard several people–including Jessica Alba, calling this product bronzer. As you would expect from a product with this name, the shade reminds me of a Summer sunset. I really like this powder; it is a baked powder with a silky texture. It is a sheer-but-buildable Terracotta color that leaves a subtle sheen on the skin. My first comment was–it’s almost like the Kjaer Weis Desired Glow cream blush made into a powder form. Don’t you agree? Probably best for fair-to-light/medium skin tones, especially for those who prefer a more discreet bronzy look (no risk of overdoing with this one), but it may also be a lovely blush option for darker skin tones. RMS Beauty Master Mixer: I have always, always wanted a golden Living Luminizer (which is instead a pearly color), so when RMS Beauty announced the Master Mixer as a versatile, multitasking, rose-gold highlighter, I was instantly sold.  I had previously bought the RMS Beauty Eye Polish in Lunar, hoping that it would have that luminizing effect, but it was not the same. Pretty, but not the same. Well, let me say, that the Master Mixer is what I expected, and I am convinced that it will become a best-selling product like the Living Luminizer, mainly because:

  • It is rose gold, which is very flattering on most skin tones, even deeper skin tones;
  • It is wearable. You don’t have to be 20 year old with perfect skin to rock it. It gives a light reflecting sheen that makes the skin look fresh, not glittery;
  • A little goes a long way. It’s expensive, but the tiniest amount gives the perfect amount of light to my cheeks.

I will post a more in depth review, but if you have burning questions about it that cannot wait until my review (I know I would 🌝) then feel free to leave a comment below. It is now available at The Detox Market (shop here). (I will update the swatches with more highlighters very soon!)

MUN No.7 Ayour Body Serum*: At last, Munskin came up with their own body serum formula, which is quite lovely; silky, light, soothing. The scent caught me a little un-prepared; it’s not the usual rosy, feminine signature Mun scent that we’re used to with their face products. However, it’s a nice, very clean, unisex scent (that my husband immediately approved of) made with lavender, frankincense, and neroli. The serum contains some of the main player ingredients of the Mun skincare line, like the precious Prickly Pear Seed oil, but also Rosehip oil (so make sure to cover your skin/wear sunscreen during the daytime), olive oil, cucumber seed oil, and Vitamin E. Mun has kindly offered a 15% discount to my readers, so if you place an order at their website you can use the code GGlowMunAyour. I may also have a Mun-themed surprise for you next week *winks*.

Valentine’s Day Sale: Take 20% off selected products at Integrity Botanicals using code BEMINE. Now through Sunday, 2/14. Find it here.
