January + February Favorites 2014

February 2014 Favorites Genuine Glow Kahina Argan Oil, MV Skincare, Waxelene, Kjaer Weis Lip Tint, Priti NYC Soy Polish Remover, One Love Organics Cleansing Oil

Due to the lack of a post featuring my favorite products of January, I smashed both January and February favorites in this post. I have shopped for some Spring-y makeup (more posts about it coming soon) and repurchased certain tried and true products that I cannot be without. My major skin concern has been sensitivity and I have occasionally gotten quite spotty, especially when I ran out of my Argan oil. Makeup-wise, I have been really into bronzers and purchased a few new ones, because as you may have noticed in my Orange Lipstick Trend post, I am running pretty pale lately and have not gotten the chance to boost my Vitamin D in a while!

A few repurchases.

Kahina’s Argan Oil – I am still loving this face oil. It keeps my skin looking so healthy. I took a little break from it to try another product and I got spotty immediately. So I went back to using it and in two days my skin was clear again. That is self-explanatory.

Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Cleansing Oil/Makeup Remover, (read post here). This is my third bottle and I might subscribe for a refill program at this point. I just can’t see myself using anything else to remove my makeup, especially when I wear more than usual. It just makes it so easy and quick compared to any other oil. I am planning to try more ED4OLO, so please tell me, what’s your favorite ED4OLO product? I am undecided between the face mist and the eye balm. Please leave your suggestions below. Also, many of you ladies from the motherland have asked me if ED4OLO products will be available in the UK and the founder of One Love Organics, Suzanne, has told me that the answer is yes. Just be patient a little longer. It is well worth the wait, I promise!

Waxelene – I am so glad that I restocked some of this. I have a nasty cold at the moment and this is what I am applying every night around my nose (my nostrils are so irritated and red , they look like they’re on fire) and on my lips, which are feeling awfully dry. When I wake up in the morning my skin looks 100 time better than when I got in bed. This balm is so so effective and so inexpensive. I highly recommend throwing one in your purse, especially if you have dry skin/lips. Read my review here.

Jane Iredale Pencil Crayon (previously called Lip Definer) in Spice. You can definitely tell by the size of my old one how much I liked this lip pencil. The shade is just such a natural looking, lip-matching color that it allows me to correct my lip shape where needed (like my faded contour in some spots due to childhood injuries = face plants). The consistency is absolutely perfect. It is creamy enough to not be too harsh on the lips, yet it is hard enough not to smudge. It is just perfect.

Winks by Georgie Lash Adhesive. Not being very gifted in the lash department, I often reach for a few small individual faux lashes. This formaldehyde-free lash glue dries transparent and lasts all day!

New favorites.

MV Skincare Oxygen Formula Moisturiser*. I cannot say enough good things about the MV SKincare products that I have tried so far and this one may be my new favorite. The formula is very similar to the Rose Soothing and Protecting Moisturiser, which I planned to restock once it was gone. However, I find that this one gives a little extra something to my skin that makes it look even better and it works just as great under makeup as a primer. It is very hydrating and moisturizing, but leaves no greasy residue. Seriously, MV Skincare’s formulations are outstanding, and in my opinion completely justify their outstanding price tags.

Priti Soy Polish Remover. After trying this I can finally say that I will never go back to conventional nail polish remover. It is oil-based, smells like citrus fruit, and does an excellent job at removing any nail polish. I wrote a little more about Priti NYC here.

Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in Dream State. No matter how much my lipstick collection grows this is still my go-to for natural looking, nude lips. I just dab some over my lips after filling them with the Jane Iredale pencil in Spice. It is a sheer peachy-nude shade that leaves just a hint of shine.
