Let me start by saying that, as much as I appreciate a pretty, hand-crafted soap that I am not a soap fanatic. It is one of those items that “as long as it does not dry or irritate my skin” I am going to use it. Of course, I do not use anything containing questionable ingredients, especially synthetic fragrances, but you get the picture. However, when I stumbled upon Jacq’s Organics their beautifully packaged soaps got my attention immediately. They are hand-crafted in Florida and are made with fresh, local ingredients. Before I even got the chance to get my hands on the Carrot Con Leche Skin Care Set*, I was already applauding the sustainability efforts that this family-owned company makes. Once I tried the products, I was hooked.
I was surprised at how much I loved using the Carrot con Leche Soap Bar. Not only does it smell delicate and fresh, but it is very moisturizing. I was reaching solely for this soap bar during the “Polar Vortex” to keep my hands from getting dry. The Revitalizing Carrot con Leche Face Toner was also a lovely surprise. I admit I was a little concerned about the Peppermint Oil in it due to my sensitive skin, but it did not to cause any reactions. It is a very refreshing and hydrating face mist, and even though it is recommended to be applied with a soaked cotton pad, I actually carried it in my bag and sprayed it all over my face, (but please don’t copy me, follow the instructions! It should not be applied too close to the eyes). The Carrot con Leche Serum gets its name from Carrot Seed Oil, which is extracted from fresh, raw carrots to provide a large amount of vitamins. The texture feels very light, but I found that the serum left my face more shiny than usual, and you guys know I shine enough on my own thanks to my oily skin. I expected that the Apricot Kernel Oil, (which is the first ingredient and it is known to be suited for oily skin), would balance my skin, but as you may know face oils do not work the same way for everyone. It did, however, leave my skin incredibly soft and smooth. I have not wasted a single drop of it and have been using it as a body serum. I like its scent so much that I am already dreaming of the Carrot con Leche Body Oil.
