What’s In My Makeup Bag #4

Whats-in-my-makeup-bag-4Although I am totally over the rainy, humid, and super hot South Carolinian summer days, I am definitely not looking forward to seeing the sun go down earlier. I am holding onto my last summery makeup days and have been using a few new products that I am very excited about. So take a peek at what is currently in my makeup bag.

The bag – Being slightly obsessed with striped patterns, especially in the navy blue/white combo, I wanted this cute makeup bag from See Design the moment I saw it. It is made in 100% cotton, comes in different sizes (I believe mine is a medium size and I can fit a whole face of makeup in it!) and looks nice and sturdy. See Design cosmetic bags come in a bunch of cute, fun, and colorful patterns and they are very well-made.

The makeup – The base has been pretty standard with my W3LL People Concealer #2 and my Afterglow Mineral Foundation in Tan. This foundation matches me like no other and has a semi-matte, but very luminous finish that I love. On to the bronzer, I told you (in my last post) that I am using the So Bronze* powder from Jane Iredale in the shade #2 and the bronzer side of the compact is really, really nice. A thin layer of Un-powder over my T-Zone and I am good to go. The newest addition to my bag has been the Jane Iredale PureBrow Gel in Blonde*. I have been using this gel every single day because not only does it keep my brows in place, but it also makes them appear a bit fuller. Next, to the eyes, I have been using just a light wash of color over my lids with Afterglow eye shadow in Baroque and Ecco Bella eye shadow in Deep Taupe* quickly swiped in the crease (I will write more about my favorite eye shadows very soon, so if you are hunting for pressed eye shadows with good texture and color payoff keep an eye on my next makeup posts.). As for lashes, I have been faithful to my Kjaer Weis mascara, because makeup is fun, but raccoon eyes are not in trend this season. On my cheeks I have been loving the Ecco Bella blush in the shade Coral Rose*, which is a pretty peachy-pink. It is almost like a powder translation of my favorite cream blush, Vapour Beauty Blush in Spark. Ilia Beauty Blossom Lady has been my lip choice for a little while. I almost forgot how much I like this shade! A warm pink that lightly stains my lips and keeps them moisturized for hours.

What’s in your makeup bag at this time? Have you compiled a Fall makeup wishlist yet? I have!

hi! i had a question on the jane iredale brow gel in blonde. i have medium brown hair (a bit lighter than yours pictured) and dark brows. is blonde the best match for you? does it lighten up your brows at all? thanks for any feedback!

    • Hi Lynne, my brows are naturally very dark, almost black. This brow gel in the shade blonde lightens them a little bit, but with a natural effect that I find very flattering. The blonde one is a taupe shade (the best match for me), while the brunette shade is darker (too dark for me) and warm-toned. I hope it helps! Thank you for your comment.

Hey Lilly! I finally completed my all natural makeup bag after recently switching over to eco-friendly, green products and throwing away all the junk I used in the past. I’m still a newbie but so far I have RMS UnCover Up in 22 (Medium), Jane Iredale Active Light Undereye Concealer in No.2, Alima Pure blush in Melon (non-shimmery peachy pink shade), RMS Living Luminizer, Zuzu Luxe the Mascara in Black, Jane Iredale Eye Pencil in Brown, and Ilia Lipstick in Funnel of Love. I’ll be sure to check out some of the products you listed, especially the brow gel since I have the same color hair/eyes as you. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Inga, that sounds wonderful! You picked some of my favorite products, like the living luminizer and Ilia lipsticks. Aren’t they gorgeous?

      Thanks for sharing :)

Are you coming to the Night for Green of Beauty event in NYC tomorrow night?

  • Vicki

    Hi Lily
After reading your August favorites last week I picked up the Jane Iredale brow gel. I use a few other of Jane’s products due to having excema on my face and they are fantastic. I’ve never used a tinted brow gel before but this is excellent. Thanks for the recommendation! The Ilia tinted lip conditioner is next on my list :)

    • Hi Vicky, I am so glad to hear that! Feel free to also email me or send me a tweet if you have any specific questions about products that you are interested about!

Which shade of Ilia Beauty do you plan on trying? I am very curious! ;)

I tend to prefer a more nude lip but I’m debating between the In Paradise and Nobody’s Baby. In Paradise one just looks so pretty! But then again Arabian Knights is gorgeous too… :)

Love reading what’s in your makeup bag! And loving your Z-Palette :) I’ve been looking for a good, natural brow pencil and I think I might try the Jane Iredale brow gel though I’ve never liked gels much. Does the brow gel give enough color/definition? Do you just use the brow gel alone or use with a brow pencil as well?

  • Tiff

Just ordered the afterglow mineral foundation! I would love to see a swatch of thr Eco Bella Coral Rose blush.

  • Kat

Hi :) Haven’t tried Ilia yet, must, soon.

    • Hi Kat, it’s great stuff ;)
