Catch-Up #42

Catch-Up 42

I hope that those of you who celebrated the Independence Day, (one of my favorite American holidays), had a fun and safe time! Aside from the power-outage-causing thunderstorms, it was nice to have a long weekend with the mister. Here are the highlights from the past week.

Skincare routine addition. An updated skincare routine post is definitely overdue, but I wanted to share that I added a new face treatment into my routine that I am pretty excited about. It is the Tammy Fender Epi-Peel*, which is a thick, paste-like mask that is meant to provide the same results of a spa peel. Since my skin is so delicate the whole peeling concept is quite terrifying to me, but I have used it twice this week and my skin did not get irritated at all. As always, I will give it more time before writing a full-review, but so far I am really liking it. You can check it out at The Detox Market. If you live in the Europe you may find it at Space NK.

Makeup L♥ve. It’s hard not to be repetitive when I am so infatuated with certain makeup products, but the new Kjaer Weis Dazzling bronzer* and Grace eye shadow are rocking my world, makeup-wise. Lately I have been more into less-obvious makeup: neutral tones, less foundation, less blush, less lipstick; mainly because in the Florida Summer heat less makeup looks better. The Kjaer Weis Dazzling bronzer looks natural on the skin, and although it has a bit of a dewy finish, it does not feel greasy, nor make my pores look enlarged. The Grace eyeshadow is the perfect soft taupe and as I said in the review, it is perfect to create a soft shadow under the lower lash line. The other makeup product that I have been using every day is the Fior Minerals Organic Eyeliner. Perfect color to go with my soft, bronzed, every day look and surprisingly, good staying power.

LOV OrganicTea. I recently started to drink Lov Organic Tea*. It’s certified organic by ECOCERT France, and it comes in a bunch of different flavors. My favorite one, called Lov is good,  is actually caffeine free, so if you are looking for a caffein-free tea option, this is great. Another one I enjoy is Lov is beautiful, which has a peach taste. Good stuff! This one I got from The Detox Market.

RMS Beauty Skin2Skin Foundation Brush. So I finally received my RMS foundation brush (the one whose head looks like a cinnamon bun) and used it today for the first time to apply the Gressa foundation and my first impressions are very positive. The first thing I noticed is that it is quite small (much smaller than I expected), and for that reason it easily reaches small areas of the face that need more of a detailed application, like around the nose. I was very pleased with the way it blended the foundation, so I will try to use it with a couple of different face products (Kjaer Weis foundation, for example), and report to you my final thoughts. Although it is a bit expensive, I am glad I bought it because I don’t like big foundation brushes, especially now that I am trying to use foundation only in selected areas of my face that need a little coverage. I bought it at The Detox Market.

Kari Gran Lip Whip*. At this point I think that most of you have already tried the Kari Gran Lip Whip, which is a popular lip balm that comes in a jar. I only started to use it this week (I have Naked, which is the clear one) and I really like it. It’s a bit on the thick side so I use it at night, and I find that in the morning I still have a tiny bit on my lips, so it’s nice for overnight treatment, and it smells like sweet peppermint. It’s available at Kari Gran’s official website and at Sephora.
