April Favorites 2014

Favorites April 2014 Genuine Glow

April is hands-down my favorite month of the year, and this year it was just as lovely as always. I was quite busy the whole month, but I got the chance to occasionally enjoy beautiful sunny days outdoor (you can take a peek on my Instagram feed, which I have started to update more regularly). I just love the smell of the April air at sunrise, seeing the flowers blooming, and of course, (lucky me, I know) quick trips to beach. Product-wise I tried a few new things that I loved but I also returned a couple products that did not work for me, and I will make sure to review both the loved ones and the not-so loved ones very soon.

Yuli Pure Mask. I already reviewed this mask and I still think that it is an outstanding face mask, and that it could work for a lot of different skin types. My skin is both oily (T-zone) and sensitive, and this mask works well to “renew” my complexion. It gives a boost of radiance and assists in healing  blemishes. Read more in my review.

MV Skincare Rose Hydrating Mist* and Maya Face Water. This month I had to take it easy with toners and facial mists because I had a few unexpected breakouts and did not immediately understand the cause. I went ahead and changed to the most basic routine possible in order to make sure that the least amount of ingredients were involved. This helped my skin tremendously. My face mists of choice were the MV Skincare Rose Hydrating Mist, and the Maya Face Water. I already wrote about the MV Skincare Rose Hydrating Mist but the Maya Face Water is a newer, much-loved discovery. I tried both the Goji and the Pure, and ended up buying a larger size of the Pure one because it works beautifully. I am tempted by telling you more about it, so I will write a separate post about later.

Pai Jasmine and May Chang Body Oil*. You guys already know how much I like Pai’s Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil and to me this feels just like a “body version” of it. I find that the scent of it is actually similar to the BioRegenerate Oil, with a hint of citrus to it coming from the May Chang. I adore this oil massaged on wet skin. It leaves my skin so smooth, well moisturized and delicately scented. It also absorbs fairly quickly, so I can get dressed shortly after the application. It does an amazing job at locking in the moisture so that until my next shower my skin is still feeling and looking lovely. If you have tried the BioRegenarate oil, you will  love this one too.

Sheswai Nail Polish in For Real*. I have been wearing lots of new nail colors, but whenever I want to keep my nails nude and chic, this is still my #1 choice. The color is just so pretty and unique, and the formula is pretty great too.

Morihata Yoshii Stripe Face Towel. I basically add a few of these with every new order at Spirit Beauty Lounge. These face towels are simply the best to remove cleanser from my face because they are soft, perfect size, perfect thickness and they wash beautifully. They are pricier than average wash clothes, but I could never go back to those scratchy clothes I used to cleanse my face with–No way! It doesn’t hurt that they are very pretty, too.

Ilia Beauty in Blossom Lady. Although the newest Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner in Hold Me Now is very beautiful and has the wonderful formula that you may be already familiar with, it ended up not being very loved. The reason? It is so so sheer that I can see it in pictures but not so much in real life, as if I never had enough on my lips. Bottom line, Blossom Lady was put to hard work and I may need a third tube some time soon (mind you, I almost never finish a lipstick). Perfect pink, perfect moisturizing formula, it just speaks Spring all over!

What were your favorite products in April? Did you try any of the products I mentioned, and if so, did you like them as much as I do?
