Rosehip Oil has recently become a lot more popular than it used to be when I first learned about it. In fact I kind of expect the Argan madness to extend to Rosehip one day soon…(how many products can you spot in the stores today that contain Argan Oil? It wasn’t like that a few years ago, was it?) Rosehip Oil is a very powerful oil that carries a lot of benefits to skin and hair and it is relatively inexpensive, considering all of its incredible properties. It was used for centuries by Native Americans to cover a multitude of skin needs. Healing, moisturizing, and soothing are just a few of the popular uses for it. Therefore, I was very excited to find out that one of my favorite skincare brands, Pai Skincare, made their own Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend*, a unique formula that works to help reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines, and UV damage in all skin types.
As I said, I was not new to Rosehip oil before using the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil. However, as soon as I got the first drop of it into the palm of my hand, I immediately noticed a significant difference between this and the rosehip oils that I had used before. In fact, Pai’s blend contains not only the seed oil, but the fruit oil as well, which delivers twice the regenerative sterols, and five times the caretonoids of seed oil. Picture it like this: instead of getting a juice, you get a cider, which is more nutritious. I also read from Pai that this oil is not cold-pressed, but it is instead extracted with volcanically sourced CO2, which preserves the properties of the plant, eliminates all germs, and prevents oxidation. Just to mention some of the most outstanding properties of Rosehip oil, it contains high amounts of: essential fatty acids (which promote skin’s elasticity and repair skin from environmental free radical damage), Vitamin A (which helps to heal sun-damaged skin), and antioxidants (that protect and repair skin from premature aging).
My favorite uses of this oil have been as a nigth-time facial serum, as an under-eye serum, and as a special treatment for my hair ends. I also add a drop or two to my moisturizers. On days when I am not going out and I am not exposing my skin to the sun I like to apply a drop on my cheekbones where I have most of my dark spots. Rosehip oil is very effective at healing sun-damaged skin. Ask Miranda Kerr, that is what she told Vogue.
What I love the most about using this oil blend is that it improves the appearance of my skin’s texture right away. On days when I use it I have noticed that my skin looks more firm and supple and it has the glow that only a good nourishing serum can give. It absorbs quickly, without leaving greasy residues on the skin and it helps with soothing redness on some areas of my face like cheeks and around the nose. Basically, between my day-time Echium Eye Cream and the night-time Rosehip Oil, Pai Skincare has covered all my eye-care needs. Next, I have my eye on their Echium and Amaranth Age Confidence Facial Oil.
I was already a big fan of Rosehip Oil, but I definitely like Pai’s blend more than any other one that I tried before. I think that Rosehip Oil is a great investment for anyone’s beauty cabinet because it is so simple, yet so powerful, and definitely less expensive than most good facial oil blends.
Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend can be purchased at The Detox Market.
