Monthly Favorites: October 2013

Monthly Favorites OctoberThis year, October went something like this: lovely chilly weather, boots, sweet potatoes, a Fall festival, and great new beauty products. I also went a little crazy shopping at Abe’s Market. They have a great selection of health foods and “natural/organic” products, and also have a fantastic customer service. I stocked up on probiotics and organic raw nuts, and found some delicious-looking hot chocolate packs I am going to try. Do you have any favorite organic (sugar free) hot chocolate mix? Let me know! Onto the October beauty favorites…

If you read my review, you know that I tried the  Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Oil Cleanser and added it to the list of my favorite cleansers. It is a wonderfully scented oil product (smells like tropical fruits) that melts down makeup and dirt quickly and effortlessly, and completely dissolves with water. I have used almost half of the bottle in one month, which should give you an idea of how much I like it. Perfect on days when I wear a little extra makeup and I want to take it off without rubbing/pulling my skin, especially around my eyes.

Waxelene* has become not only part of my evening routine (my lips and hands crave it every night) but it is also always in my purse.  Since I re-discovered it, I have not gone a day without it.

Rahua Voluminous Shampoo was the most surprising find of all. It was right there in front of my eyes this whole time I have been shopping at The Detox Market, yet I kept postponing my purchase. When I decided to give it a try I found an awesome trial pack at Barneys (free fast shipping!). Now I have run out of the Voluminous one and I am getting ready to switch to the original formula. Will definitely keep you posted about the switch. In the meanwhile, I un-twisted the cap and sniffed the Original Shampoo to see if the scent was really too herby as some people told me. As expected, I love it. It can never be too herby for me!

Tammy Fender Epi-Peel*. The fact that it takes only a few minutes, and that gives my skin a complete facial experience (exfoliating, detoxifying, renewing, softening) makes this mask a staple. I have been using it more often than recommended, but have not experienced any reactions. It just makes me want to visit Tammy Fender Spa even more.

As for nails, I was eager for the right time to come so I could wear this eggplant-purple shade called What, by Sheswai. So perfect for Fall. I love the formula of this one, almost as much as my other Sheswai favorite, For Real.

Finally, my makeup favorites for this month were my Z-Palette, Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in Dream State* (perfect complement for smoky eye looks) and a new mascara I have been testing out that I will tell you more about soon…
