Nudus Lipstick in 27 Kisses

Lipstick junkies, I have got good news for you. I have found a beautiful neutral lip color that is truly, universally flattering, made with high quality ingredients, and long-lasting. It’s called 27 Kisses* and it’s hand-made in Australia by a brand called Nūdus. It’s the perfect my lips but better color and I can’t think of anyone who would not look good in it.

The consistency of the lipstick is creamy, but it does not have the slippery, glossy look of most creamy lipsticks. In fact, it’s almost completely matte. However, compared to other matte lipsticks this is very comfortable on the lips, it does not dry them at all and it stays on all day with minimal fading (I only need to touch-up after eating).

27 Kisses is a rosey color that has a mauve tone to it. In the photo that I posted on Instagram it looks more peachy, but in real life it looks like the photo above (my lip-swatch was taken in natural light). It is nicely pigmented, so the color should not look much different on other lips as it should cover them. The color is perfect for every day use. It can be paired with both a minimal eye look or an intense smokey eye look. It’s a versatile shade that can be used with any makeup look. If you are familiar with MAC lipsticks, I find 27 Kisses to be similar to MAC Cosmo.

The quality of the ingredients is also outstanding. Nūdus uses 27 active ingredients, including super foods, antioxidants, vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K, essential fatty acids, and high-end anti-aging ingredients to keep the lips soft and help protect them from environmental stress. Nūdus lipsticks are COSMOS certified organic, certified by Australian Certified Organic (ACO) which is internationally recognized. Most incredibly, Nūdus pigments used to create the lipsticks colors are a special mix of ancient Ayurvedic, pure, bioactive colour extracts from flowers, fruits, herbs, and minerals.

This is the full list of ingredients:

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil * , Cera Alba (Beeswax) * , Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Cera * , Tribehenin , Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter * , Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil * , Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil * , Tocopherol (Vitamin E) , Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil * , Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil * , Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil , Sclerocarya Birrea (Marula) Seed Oil * , Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Seed Oil , Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil * , Fragrance * , May Contain -+ Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide) , Mica , May Contain CI 75470 (Carmine) , Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract , Melia Azadirchta Flower Extract , Amino-Esters-1 , Coccinia Indica , Solanum Melongena (Eggplant) Fruit Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Flower Extract , Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil , Ocimum Sanctum (Holy Basil) Leaf Extract , Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Extract , Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract , Corallina Officinalis (Coral Seaweed) Extract , Eclipta Prostrata Extract , Moringa Pterygosperma Oil , Melia Azadirachta Fruit/Seed Extract , Coccinia Indica Flower Extract , Coccinia Indica Fruit Extract * Certified Organic Ingredients

You can find it at The Choosy Chick (use code FREESHIPNUDUS to receive free shipping on any Nudus purchase), BeauTea Bar and at Integrity Botanicals. If you live in Australia, you can shop directly from Nūdus.

  • Nice . It almost looks darker on the skin that on the lips. Really pretty!x

    • Hi love! The natural light makes it look a bit brighter. Thanks for reading!

  • Love this shade, it’s oh so pretty and I think everyone looks good in it!! :) xx

    • Hi babe! I saw your photos, it looks so beautiful on you! :)

      • Aww thank you beautiful<3 :)

  • I saw those lipsticks a couple of times now on different blogs and really want to try them! The colors look gorgeous and they don’t contain synthetic colors like most lipstick brands do. 27 Kisses looks so flattering on your lips! Best regards.

    • Hi! I, too, was very impressed with the ingredient list. The texture, color payoff are so good. I hope the other shades are just as good because Nudus makes pretty colors. Let me know how you like it if you give it a try ;)

Always in search for the perfect color in lipstick, I felt I finally found it when I bought 27 Kisses. It’s so pretty.

    • Hi! I agree with you, it’s so easy to wear. It adds that little somethin somethin that makes my makeup look come together in no time. Have you tried any other shades from Nudus?

      • Dee Dee

Not yet. But I’m glad to see that Integrity Botanicals is carrying Nudus.

You know the way to my lipstick lovin’ heart, Lilly! I like this colour, and it looks great on you. I think I have something similar from RAL. Any chance you could swatch some of your Jane Iredale Lip Liners? I’m flirting with the idea of picking some up, but I would prefer a truer/better look at the colours beforehand.

    • Hi love! Yes, I’ll do a post about the lip liners. I would most definitely recommend that you pick up the shade called Spice. It’s the perfect pinky-nude. That’s what I used to line my lips in the photo above. Which lipstick from RAL looks like 27 Kisses? Thanks :)

  • I love the sound of this brand! I’m eyeing some of the bolder hues though, like Survivor and Revenge. The products sound as lovely as their packaging!

    • Yes, the packaging is so lovely and I was so impressed when I first opened my package. Then I tried the lipstick and it was so great that I totally forgot to mention the pretty packaging ;)

  • I’ve never heard of this brand before, but the color and texture of that lipstick looks heavenly! Definitely checking them out now!

    • Hi Maeve, I have not tried all of the colors, but this one is excellent. Let me know your thoughts if you give it a try ;) Thanks for reading :)

  • Beautiful shade! Seems in line with what I would wear regularly. <3

    • Hi Ruhi, I am glad you like it :) Thanks for reading, and let me know your thoughts if you give it a try! <3

  • Gorgeous! I love how this color looks on you :) I think 27 Kisses is going to be the next color I need to have from Nudus! The formula is just insane, I love how these lipsticks are so pigmented, moisturizing and long-lasting. In love!

    • Melissa

As much as I love the colour and most of the ingredient list, I am concerned about the inclusion of fragrance (an undisclosed cocktail of possibly nasty chemicals) and even more concerned that it is quite high up on the ingredient list, so there’s quite a lot of it :(

  • Wow. I need this in my life. Had a quick google and it seems like one hard to get – sadly. The shade is perfect.

    X Alice

  • tianna

lovely! I need to try this one ASAP – I love Revenge and Fairy Tales as well – more interesting than your average pink or nude, but still really cool colors!

  • Diana

OH FINALLY! Thank you, Lily! I have been waiting for this for more than 3 years! We, in this green community, are made so scared by stories about lead and many iffy stuffs in conventional lipsticks to the point that we often neglect our right as a customer to demand that the organic products that we buy are not only clean but also function well, a.k.a. do beyond cosmetics and don’t age us! I cope with ILIA lipstics and tinted lip conditioners far too long because of the promise of being clean and the nice colors. BUT, ILIA lipstics age my lips – they become very dry beyond repair and wrinkled (even though I use Yuli lip oil religiously). This has never happened to me when I used Estee Lauder Channel lipstics. I will try to get my hand on this Nudus lipstics, because the ingredients look so rich! They are 27 good oils vs. only 12-14 oils in ILIA plus their very drying pigments (mica, titanium dixoide, iron oxide (ci 77499).

  • I love this shade on you! Such a simple yet sophisticated neutral shade. I also like that Nudus’ formula is Ayurveda-based, and I just got into that now as I just started reading Absolute Beauty by Pratima. Hopefully I can pick up a Nudus lipstick or 2 this year. xo

  • Laur

This looks nice on you. I have never tried these. The ayurvedic herb complex sounds lovely, but the incl list does contain mineral pigments, like all the other brands (ilia, rms etc). So my question would be how much of it is just marketing… But I am sure the texture is lovely…

  • Wow, that shade truly is gorgeous and versatile! Have not heard of this brand, but will definitely be looking into it! :)

  • look and sounds gorgeous, now i really do need to get my hands on some if only it was more available in the UK without having to pay crazy shipping fees! I often find that natural lipsticks are too shimmery in appearance or too chalky in texture, but this looks creamy and so natural! Looks like really good coverage too! Sigh, a UK girl can dream!

Hi Lilly, Love your blog! I was wondering, have you ever tried Bite beauty lip products? They are organic and vegan. I have newly discovered them. I have tried several Ilia products over the years and I always find them, and a lot of vegan brands, to be too drying for me (chronically dehydrated lips here). I always would need to layer them with lip balms. Bite I do not have to do that with. They are gorgeous and moisturizing! Yeah..Me doing a happy dance! Would love to know your thoughts.

  • Bambi Organics

Che bello! Mi piace davvero tanto! Peccato nn poter comprarlo LOL ma forse meglio così hhi

    Un bacio

  • Julie

Wow, that’s truly a beautiful colour! And it would very likely fit me too, since I guess I have similar skin undertones like you.. would it be possible for you to compare it to Ilia Beauty’s Dress You Up? I already own that one and it does look similar gauged from the photos, and being as minimalistic as possible, I would like not to invest in a colour that is pretty similar to something I already have.

  • Look at those lips!!!! This is my favorite lipstick and I just love how it looks so amazing on everyone. You’re so gorgeous, love. and wonderful review <3
