Weekly Catch-Up #38

Weekly Catch-Up #38

I had my best intentions to post more this week, but it turned out to be more busy than expected. I have quite a few things to share though, and the posts that I was ready to publish will go up soon. I hope you’ve had a lovely week!

Empties/Repurchased. It happened again. I finished my Alima Pure Sombra Contour Powder, which I immediately repurchased because it is one of my favorite makeup products, and is a Summer must-have for me. However, I have been wearing another Alima bronzing powder more than Sombra lately, the Mauna Loa Bronzer. The fact that it looks like my real tan color makes it the perfect bronzer to look just a bit more sunkissed. It’s very natural looking and suits light skin tones. You can check out my review and swatches of two Alima bronzers here.

I also repurchased the Suntegrity Mineral Sunscreen for Body with SPF 30 (Unscented). I did not finish it, but it expires in June (make sure to label your sunscreens as you do not want to use them when they expire!). I get good protection when I wear this body sunscreen and it is unscented, which I prefer. The only time I did not wear this sunscreen at the beach I got a sun-burned (so yeah, it works well). You can find it here.

Lastly, I repurchased a YULI Cocoon Facial Elixir, because when the bottle starts to feel like it’s emptying I start to panic. You can read why here.

A little W3LL People Haul. I haven’t received the products yet (I just bought them during the Memorial Day sales), but I ordered some W3LL People makeup products that I am very excited to try. I bought a golden eyeshadow, the Bio Bronzer and the Bio Brightener Powder. The eyeshadow is called Iridescent Gold and it is supposed to be a wearable, highlighting golden shade. I tried Gold Twinkle, another golden eyeshadow from W3LL People, which turned out to be a little too shimmery for daytime wear. Iridescent Gold is supposed to be luminous, but not sparkly. The Bio Bronzer has great reviews, and is supposed to give a natural tan look. The Bio Brightener Powder contains both mattifying ingredients and brightening ingredients to keep shine at bay but add a little luminosity to the skin (yes, please!). I will show you everything when I receive it, but I guess you can tell that I am all about getting that J.Lo glow this Summer. I bought everything from Pharmaca (if you sign up you get a 30% off coupon), and you can find W3LL People here.

Cake for… your hair? I don’t even know how to describe this product yet, but I am really liking the Reverie Cake Hair Serum*. Let me get your expectations straight right away: it does not smell like cake, but it does smell very, very good. I know that because when my husband comments on the way I smell, it means a lot because he dislikes many of the scented products that I  test. As for what the hair serum is supposed to do, Cake is an anti-aging, hair and scalp serum that is meant to stimulate hair growth. I have only used it for a week, so I cannot testify about hair growth yet, but I am amazed at how beautifully volumized my hair looks the morning after applying this serum to my roots. Oh, and it’s not an oil serum, it’s actually more like a watery serum. I will write a more in-depth review as I figure out what it does other than giving me big, good-smelling hair ( as if that wasn’t enough already). If you want to check it out, you can find it at The Detox Market.

Lipstick Love. While it is not a competitor for my favorite Nudus lipstick 27 Kisses, I have been wearing another shade from Nudus that is very pretty and Summer-appropriate. It’s called Fairy Tales* and it’s a coral color that reminds me of ILIA in Funnel Of Love, but it is more pigmented, vibrant and long-lasting. If you like peachy/coral shades, Fairy Tales is one to try, especially since the Nudus formula is so excellent. Also, Fairy Tales is one of Nudus carmine-free lipsticks. You can find it at BeauTeaBar, and yes, I am wearing it in the photo above, and I am also wearing the Alima Pure bronzer in Mauna Loa.

Sales. I don’t know of any specials for this week, but if you havent’ checked out LeVert Beauty yet, you can sign up for their newsletter and receive a 15% off coupon on your first order. You can find it here.
