If I had to recommend only one product to get amazing-looking body skin this Summer, the Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion* would be that one. It combines the benefits of a light, non-greasy moisturizer, the subtle tint of a tanning lotion, and a delicate touch of radiance; all of which together make the skin look absolutely beautiful. It was formulated by celebrity makeup artist Bethany Karlyn to perfect the skin of her clients on set, and celebrity fans include Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Pamela Anderson, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Gwyneth Paltrow, who calls it her ‘miracle cream”.
Let me first say that this is not a self-tanner, which is the reason why I was so intrigued by it, (I have never been into self-tanners). It is a body lotion that provides a hint of color to the skin, (depending on the shade chosen) and can be easily washed off. It comes in five different shades from light to deep, and apparently, it runs a bit light. I have been using the shade medium, which looks slightly darker than my skin tone in photography, but turns out to only give a hint of a golden glow and not darken my skin tone at all.
The texture is very light and refreshing, and even the scent of it is quite cooling and lemon-y (the packaging says that it is scented with natural scent of peaumelo). The lotion contains subtle reflecting particles, which conceal minor imperfections and enhance the appearance of the skin. In a similar way to what happens when you achieve a tan, you can use a shade darker than your skin tone and give the optical illusion of slimmer legs and arms (I could use a bit of that, thanks).
The lotion also contains natural plant extracts that are meant to lift, firm, and tighten the skin. While I am unable to tell if I my skin has improved in any way (I don’t use the product every single day), I can certainly tell that whenever I apply the Prtty Peashun my skin does look a million times better. The last two images below show a before/after the application. As you may see there is a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin. However, I find that the effect is even more flattering and more subtle in person compared to what I see in photo. The lighting makes the pigments stand out more and look brighter than in real life, while the look of them is more subtle (no disco-ball effect, I promise!)
I will continue to use the shade Medium because I love the way that it makes my skin look, but I do plan on picking a darker shade next. I expect to be even more pleased with a slightly tanned effect, especially on my legs. When picking your shade, I would recommend choosing one or two shades darker than your natural skin tone if you want to achieve a subtle tan look.
I think that the practical, squeezable, and TSA approved travel size pouch of Prtty Peaushun is a must-have for any woman getting her holiday bags ready for a Summer vacation or any other occasion in which you are showing a little skin. If you, too, are not willing to committ to self-tanning but would like to fake a little sun-kissed glow, give Prtty Peaushun a try.
You can find it at Eco Diva Beauty and at Bliss.
