W3LL PEOPLE ColorBalm Review

The ColorBalm is the first product I tried from W3LL PEOPLE. “Advanced performance, premium 100% natural/organic ingredients, and sustainability” are the brand’s three core principles (as listed on their website.) Everything they sent me, from the packaging to the notes and the samples, was absolutely adorable, (and eco-friendly), and made me fall in love with them even before I tried the product. Here’s my detailed review of the lip shine:

Color: The shade I chose, #7, is called “Nude” and it is a beautiful pinky-nude. It is very sheer, so I like to apply several coats to get a little bit more color. I was extremely happy with my color choice, because I find that this shade is a great nude color for my face. It lets my lips’ natural color shine through, with a hint of pink. If I want a more defined lip, my Jane Iredale Lip Definer in Spice is a great match for it.

Scent/Taste: It has a slight minty scent that reminds me of the Burt’s Bees lip shimmers, but it is not  nearly as strong, and it fades quickly. No taste.

Consistency: The lip shine is indeed something in between alip balm and a lip stick, being very creamy and conditioning. I find that the consistency is somehow comparable to the Burt’s Bees lip shimmers and tinted lip balms, (but much better to me). It is very lightweightglides on smoothly, and feels very hydrating, keeping lips soft and conditioned all day long. It feels extremely comfortable. It has no shimmerno glossy finish, but gives a very natural-looking shine. Compared to my Ilia Beauty Tinted Lip Conditioners, the formula of the lip shine is quite different: it is less pigmented, so it gives a much more sheer finish, and it feels more lightweight. It feels a little bit like wearing a refreshing gel on my lips, instead of a lip balm.

Below is the description of the lip shine from the W3LL PEOPLE’s official website:

“The love child of a lip stick and a lip balm, The Nudist gives lips a subtle boost of color and shine plus penetrating, nourishing hydration. Rich in natural EFA’s from castor seed and organic antioxidants from pomegranate, rei shi mushroom and green tea, this luxury lip treat leaves stressed lips soothed, supple and protected.”

Price: It retails for $13 at The Detox Market

Final Thoughts: This lip shine was such a lovely discovery to me. It is perfect for every day wear, being lightweight, comfortable and moisturizing for hours. I have no complaints, except that I wish for a bit more pigmentation. Also, I wish they would create more shades. It has become my HG lip product, in rotation with my beloved Ilia Beauty Tinted Lip Conditioners.

Have you tried any W3LL PEOPLE’s products? If yes, what would you recommend me trying next? I have my eye on their foundation/concealer stick…
