I mentioned Nudus Lipstick in Fairy Tales* two posts in a row, so I thought that I would might as well swatch it for you. I must say that lipstick-wise, lately I have had a hard time wearing anything other than Nudus. The formula is just ideal: creamy, but not slippery, matte, but not drying, and pigmented enough to get vibrant, true colors. Fairy Tales is a true, rich coral shade that happens to suit my skin tone nicely and is easy to wear. Compared to my other favorite coral/peach lippies, Nudus Fairy Tales reminds me of Ilia Beauty in Funnel Of Love, an everyday peachy-nude shade. From the swatch you can see that Fairy Tales is a bit more saturated and leans more toward a true coral color, while Funnel Of Love is slightly less pigmented and looks a bit more peachy-pink in comparison to Fairy Tales. Funnel Of Love is more of a peachy-nude, while Fairy Tales is a more vibrant coral shade.
As for formula and longevity, I find Nudus Fairy Tales to be quite long lasting and that it does not require touch-ups unless I drink/eat. The finish is semi-matte, but has less of a slip to it compared to my other “natural” semi-matte lipsticks. If my lips are dry, I apply some Ganache lip balm before applying the lipstick or on top of it, and that works perfectly, but it is not drying at all. For the reference, Ganache lip balms are not shiny/glossy, they have more of a thick (cocoa-butter based) formula, so they are perfect under matte/semi-matte lipsticks because they don’t make the lipstick more shiny.
I am obviously in love with Nudus, and cannot recommend it enough. The lipsticks are quite expensive, but if you find a color you love, they are worth the splurge. For more info, and to see my favorite lipstick from Nudus (my favorite lipstick period right now), check out my review of Nudus lipstick 27 Kisses. It’s almost always sold out because it looks good on everyone, but it’s currently available here.
