Weekend Catch-Up #7

Weekend Post 7

I spent the past couple of days with my head buried under my pillow not feeling too well, but I still went through some products, did a little shopping, and drafted a few posts and product reviews that should be up soon. Here are some quick highlights from the past week…

Empties: I finished another bottle of Yuli Cocoon Elixir (fifth? sixth? I have lost count), and since I stopped using it my skin has not looked as happy. I have plenty of other mists to use, including the YULI Metamorphic Elixir (apparently, everyone’s favorite) and the May Lindstrom Jasmine Garden, but Cocoon remains the one that makes my skin feel and look the best. I am committed to use the other mists I have for review purposes, but I will repurchase Cocoon very soon.

Purchases: The Detox Market just got the Ecobrow line in stock and as an eyebrow lover that I am, I had to try it. It is a creamy, slightly-waxy brow color in a tiny jar (it reminds me of the Anastasia Brow Pomade). I picked the shade Liz, which is a very dark brown with an ashy tone. While people with very dark hair should fill in their brows with a slightly lighter color (it gives a softer appearance), I need to use a very dark brown to fill in areas where my over-plucked hairs have not grown back. I will let you know my thoughts about Ecobrow very soon. I have also shopped for a number of supplements and teas that I needed to re-stock in time for the seasonal illnesses. People around here are staring to cough and sneeze, so it’s good to be prepared.

Lipstick Love: I received my second Ilia Beauty Funnel Of Love lipstick, and I have been wearing it every single day. When I don’t feel well I don’t play much with makeup at all, so I kept it very simple and quick with this peachy-nude lip color. I also carried the Tata Harper Be Adored Lip Balm with me, to keep my lips from getting dry. I wish Tata Harper would make the same lip balm in more colors, because it works great at softening the lips even when they are very dry, and it has the loveliest waxy-velvety texture.

Hand Cream Trial: While I prefer rich, oily balms for overnight hand treatment, (I am using Kahina Fez Hand & Body Balm), I am on the market for non-greasy hand creams that work well for the daytime. I did try a few good ones last year, like the Pai Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream and the Amala Hydrating Hand Cream, and I am currently using the Weleda Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream, which leaves my hands very comfortable as well. What is your favorite hand cream?

Sales: When I stumble onto some good sales I often share them on my Facebook page, so make sure to follow me there to keep in touch. The Detox Market is offering 15% off all makeup and nail laquers, which includes Kjaer Weis, RMS Beauty, Ilia Beauty, and Ecobrow as well. Use code COLORS.

Have a great week!
