Weekend Catch-Up #4

Weekend Catch-Up #4

Although it was a very rainy week, product launches, beauty awards, and a brand new bottle of YULI Cocoon Elixir made it a little more exciting. Here’s the best of the week…

Repurchased. This week I did not finish any products (booooo!), but I finally got a full-size of the Lina Hanson Global Baby Serum, which is easily one of the best body products that I have tried. A few drops of this serum on damp skin make the roughest feet, knees, and elbows as soft as a baby’s bottom. If you are sensitive to scent or have MCS, you will probably love it, because it is completely free of any scent. It is also the fastest to absorb into the skin, among all of the body serums that I have tried. I actually had an idea: what if I tried it on my face? No essential oils, not scented, fast absorbing, and none of the ingredients are highly comedogenic, so why not?! I would love to know your thoughts.

Sampled. I have worked my way through some Tata Harper product samples that I had sitting in my cabinet (you may have eyed them in my last post). I was a bit disappointed in the Boosted Contouring Serum, which left my skin feeling dry and uncomfortable (with zero firming and plumping), while I enjoyed my last sample of the Resurfacing Mask, which I may purchase full-size. What are your favorite Tata products? Have you tried the Boosted Contouring Serum? Maybe it is the type of product that requires a long time to see results, but my skin did not feel good at all after using it.

#LipstickLove: After seeing a photo of Keira Knightley wearing a lovely, light berry lip on the red carpet, I went through my berry lip colors and found the perfect dupe: the Ilia Beauty Lipstick Crayon in Dress You Up. I thought the whole makeup look was gorgeous: cat liner, berry lips, loose curls. Just gorgeous. Did not look exactly the same on me, but still.

Allure Best of Beauty 2014. The yearly special issue of Allure Best of Beauty 2014 came out this week and awarded a few green beauty products: Kjaer Weis Radiance Highlighter (Best Top Splurge), RMS Beauty Defining Mascara (Natural Wonders), and Tata Harper Concentrated Brightening Serum (Natural Wonders), and Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener, (Natural Wonders). Isn’t that awesome? The Kjaer Weis Highlighter is one of my current makeup crushes, so I am doubly excited to see it awarded. Added to my wishlist: the Beautycounter lipstick in the shade Twig that received an award for giving “the perfect peachy sheen”.

This Week’s Sales: The Detox Market is offering 15% off on all best sellers (orders $50+), which includes some favorites of mine. Use code: BEST14. Also, if you don’t live in the UK and have been wanting to try Oskia Skincare, Cult Beauty is offering free (standard) worldwide shipping until Monday. Use code “FREEDELIVERY”.

Lastly, I wanted to quickly say hi to my french followers. I just recently found out that there were many more of you than I had imagined! I visited France a few times when I still lived in Italy, and I fell in love with Paris: Galeries Lafayette, croissants, crepes with Lemon and Sugar (omg), and Orsay… what else can a woman ask for? Anyways, merci pour votre soutien!

Have a great week!
