Weekend Catch-Up #33

Weekend Post 33

I hope you’re all having a lovely April so far. Here’s the usual weekly recap…

Wishlist. Remember the Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheeks Stain that I reviewed ages ago? It is a brilliant makeup product (read my full review here) that adjusts to your body chemistry and creates a custom shade when it comes in contact with your skin. Well, I recently found out that Jane Iredale launched a new shade this Spring, called Forever Peach. Since I loved the product, but I was hoping to see a warmer shade for it, I am pretty sure that I will love it. You can find it here.

Lurk Perfume. I am not the biggest fan of rose-based perfume, but Lurk RSW005* is the exception. It’s gorgeous; delicate, sophisticated, and unique. Together with the fresh rose scent are sandalwood and a hint of citrus that gives an unexpected twist to it. Perfect if you do not like strong, overpowering scents and lasts very well compared to other “natural” fragrances. You can check it out here.

Skincare Update. Lately I have received many requests to write an update about my skincare routine. Be on the lookout for an update top-shelf/skincare routine post, although I have not added much new product. I think that sticking to products that work well for my skin + clean diet (almost completely sugar-free, except for some raw honey and small amounts of fruit with low GI) have helped tremendously with keeping my skin blemish-free. I have not seen  improvements with scars/dark spots/wrinkles, but I have not used any targeted treatments either. I plan to experiment more with new skincare products as soon as I get more free time. In particular, there is one treatment that I am very curious about: the True Nature Botanicals Pacific Night Serum with Retinol for Sensitive Skin. Anyone tried it already?

Treat Collection Haul. As I mentioned in the last catch-up post, I took advantage of some really good deals that I found for Treat Collection Nail Polish and bought a few, (you can still check out the sale here). The color that I fell in love with is called A Special Something, a strawberry-red that is opaque in one coat, dries quickly, and is perfect for Spring/Summer. I am also happy with the Base Coat, a sheer milky color that makes the perfect base for my mani and dries very fast, and the Fast Drying Top Coat, which dries quickly as well. I will show you more colors in the future.

New Ellovi Butter*. Remember the delicious Ellovi Butter? Well, an even more delicious version of it was just launched: Mint+Chocolate! The moment I opened my jar I began to crave ice cream, but don’t worry, it’s not too sweet. It’s just really, really good. There is also a lip balm with the same exact scent. It is handmade in California with simple, pure ingredients. You can read my review of Ellovi Butter here, but the new Mint+Chocolate butter balm is currently exclusive at Ellovi.com. Especially great for dry skin and sensitive noses; also vegan-friendly. A great body balm that comes at great price
