Weekend Catch-Up #29

Weekend post 29

Who else is excited about getting an extra hour of daylight? I don’t even care that I am losing an hour of sleep! Here are the products that made my week…

Empties/Repurchased – Yuli Halcyon Cleanser. A couple of days ago I started panicking when I noticed that my bottle was not dispensing much product anymore, so I rushed into buying a new one. Thankfully I had enough cleanser to use until my new bottle arrived, *Phew*. My skin is still doing great, so there is no need to switch up to something else. I also bought a new Lina Hanson Global Baby Serum, because my husband finished my last bottle. He has great taste for products, and he is also helping me to test out products for dry skin since they don’t suit my skin type, (♥♥♥).

Nudus 27 Kisses –. In case you missed my post on Facebook, Nudus lipstick in 27 Kisses is finally back in stock. Apparently, it had sold out everywhere for a week or so, so if you were waiting on it, you can find it here. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can see photos in my review hereon my Instagram post here (and in the photo above). I admit that I am obsessed with this lip color and with the formula of Nudus lipsticks, and you guys know that I rarely use that word. Whether you go for a dolled-up look (pairing it with a smokey eye), or you like to look a bit un-done (maybe wearing just a little mascara), this lip color works great.

Ecobrow Review – A little late, but I have my Ecobrow review ready, and should be up tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to collect all of the colors to give you good swatches. It’s a great brow product, so if you are on the market for a brow filler , and especially if you were tempted to try the Anastasia DipBrow Pomade, Ecobrow is an excellent alternative. You can find it here, (but check back for the review with all the details!).

Sunscreen Madness – The one topic that I have received the most requests to review lately is sun protection, and rightfully so. No one wants to age quicker and get dark spots, especially if you have already done damage (like me). I did a post a while back ago about a few of the suncreens I liked and I still use some of them (you can read the post here). However, I have tried quite a few since that post, so I will be featuring ALL of the suncreens that I have tried and my personal experience with them. If you are curious about a specific sun care product and would like to see it reviewed here, just leave me a comment below.

Lacquer Love – A few weeks ago the lovely Megan from Seed to Serum sent me a Kester Black nail polish to try in the shade Poppy*. Besides being a gorgeous color, the Kester Black formula is pretty awesome. It is richly pigmented and applies very easily leaving no streaks. For comparison, I swatched it next to a very similar color I own from Kure Bazaar called September. The Kester Black applicator brush is large and fat, making the application even easier. It’s an excellent lacquer, and I have added the colors Buttercream and Sky to my list.

Lina Hanson Perfume Giveaway Update – I apologize for the delay guys, but the first winner randomly picked by the system did not follow the rules of the contest (some options were mandatory), so I will have to pick another one and have The Detox Market and Lina Hanson verify the winner with me. I will update you as soon as possible via blog and social media.

Sales – Talking about sunscreens, last night I found one of my favorite face sunscreens, the Coola Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 with matte finish on sale with a 50% discount. I hope they still have some in stock! You can find out if they do by clicking here. It’s particularly great if you have normal-to-oily skin because it truly has a matte finish and leaves the skin silky so that makeup goes on smooth.

If you would like to try the Meow Meow Tweet Deodorant that I have been raving about (because it works, smells amazing, and is baking soda-free), you can receive a free travel size of the deodorant with the purchase of any two Meow Meow Tweet products. Use code MEOW. You can shop here.

Sorry for not hanging out much on social media this week, I was extra busy! Have a wonderful week, and enjoy the warmer days coming up :)

  • Isn’t it the best feeling when you find your favourite items on sale!:)

  • The Kester Black nail polish in Poppy looks gorgeous! I’ve never tried it, but if Seed to Serum carries it, it must be good. I’m also excited for your Ecobrow review.

  • Coola is my favorite sunscreen! I agree that it is excellent for oily skin, under makeup, and I love it for summer. My fave is their tinted version.

Hi Lilly–Just wanted to say thanks! You always give such detailed reviews of products, along with great photos and where to shop for sales. I just ordered the ptty peashun, and I’m saving up for the nudus lipsticks and a Yuli splurge. Throwing some gratitude your way on this sunny Sunday:) (well, maybe my bank account isn’t….)

Hey love! Just wondering – does the Coola sunscreen ever break you out? I’ve been wanting to try it for ages, but am afraid to because of the silicones..though Suntegrity and MyChelle sunscreens contain Dimethicone and neither break me out..hmmm..thoughts to help me decide if I should just buy it? ;-)

Is the matte sunscreen irritating for eyes? That’s a problem I have with so many of the matte physical blocks. I love YULI Halcyon, it is so refreshing with all the oils and balm cleansers out and my pores are all the better for having it in my life. Can’t wait for your sunscreen reviews!

  • Laura

Lovely! Yes an spf review would be fab! I’d like to see: josh rosebrook spf 30, ilia tint, mvo tint, pratima.

Hi Lilly, I’d love if you reviewed the Pratima face and body sunscreens. They look lovely. Thanks!
