Vapour Beauty Mesmerize Eye Color in Storm Review

Vapour Organic Beauty Storm
Vapour Organic Beauty Mesmerize Storm Swatches Review

Lately, I have been on a hunt for new good cream eyeshadows. As I mentioned before, I prefer using cream makeup vs. powder makeup. I like when makeup blends well into my skin and looks natural. It also requires a quicker application, mostly without using brushes. My favorite eyeshadow colors are taupes and light greys, so Vapour Storm was the perfect find for me.

Packaging: This cream shadow comes in the classic Vapour metal tube.

Color: Storm is a very pigmented color in between a warm grey and a dark taupe. I think that it would work well on a variety of complexions/eye colors. This is exactly what I was looking for: it gives me a quick subtle smokey eye that looks great against my light/yellow skin and dark brown eyes.

Consistency: The consistency is very, very soft, like a butter balm. It is meant to be very gentle, soothing, and nourishing to the eyelids. It contains the organic botanicals Chrysanthemum (collagen enhancing) and Horsetail herbs (anti-inflammatory and circulatory enhancing), which Vapour calls “Vapour’s Eye Specific Infusion”. So you get the color + the treatment benefits, which I love!

Application: The product is so easy to use. Just dab your finger on the tip of the stick and gently pat it on your eyelid. If you prefer, you can use a specific brush for cream shadows (synthetic hair is best). It has such an easy consistency that makes the application a breeze.

Ingredients: Organic/Bio Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil, Organic/Bio Cera Alba (Beeswax), Silica, Castor Isostearate Beeswax Succinate, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Organic/Bio Chrysanthemum Morifolium (Chrysanthemum Flowers), Organic/Bio Euphrasia Officinalis (eyebright), Organic/Bio Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) [+/-: Titanium Dioxide (Cl 77891), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491, 77492, 77499), Mica (Cl 77019), Carmine (Cl 75470)]

Scent: Unscented.

Price: $22 at The Detox Market

Final Thoughts: My only issue with this little gem is that on my (oily) lids it does not last as much as I hoped. After a few hours it had definitely moved a little bit and smudged. Therefore I have had to use a little bit of powder to set it, (which I rather not use when I do not have much time to get ready.)

In conclusion, I think that this is an amazing cream shadow, definitely better for people with dry skin. For all of the rest of us, you might want to pack a little extra color and set with powder before you head out into the world.

Have you found a good natural cream shadow? Let me know what you are using in the comments below!

  • I’ve been wanting to try Vapour’s cream shadows and Storm looks like a lovely color! I haven’t found any cream shadows that are completely smudge/crease-free, but I do like the ones from Zosimos Botanicals and Inika :)

  • @Caitie: Hi love, Jane Iredale makes an incredible cream shadow called Eye Gloss. It is indeed completely smudge/crease-free. I have one and I love it. I don’t use it everyday, but it is so perfect. No creasing, no smudging, it lasts all day, and it comes in several gorgeous colors. Skin Deep rating of 1, but it does contain dimethicone.

  • I tried these a while ago and they really don’t stay… even with primer, rubbing it in like crazy, it ends up sheer and kind of oily after a few minutes. That was my experience anyway. I tried to return them but I got them on sale so I couldn’t. I never use them. Love the Siren lipsticks though.

  • @Michele: Hi Michele, have you tried to dab a little bit of extra product and set it with a translucent powder? That has worked so much better for me! I use W3ll People Realist X. I would not try to wear a primer because it would only add an extra layer for the product to slide on. Let me know if you try to use it again!

  • This color looks great! I love the Jane Iredale Eye Gloss. That stuff stays put like no other. Wish they made a color like this though. Great review.

  • @Bunny: Hi Alexis! I know, the Eye Gloss is perfect when you need your shadow to stay put all day. This one requires a little extra effort, but the ingredients are beyond good. I am enjoying it anyway, and yes the color is gorgeous :)
