Sheswai Lacquer in For Real

Sheswai Laquer For Real Photos SwatchesSheswai Nai Polish For Real Swatches

Although I struggle with keeping my nails well painted for more than one day because of all the cleaning and cooking I do (after all I was raised by a Southern Italian mama..), I do love a good manicure. When choosing a nail polish I usually opt for three-free formulations, which manage to be less toxic, and still perform great.

Sheswai nail polishes had been winking at me for months from Spirit Beauty Lounge. They have the cutest bottles and their caps  are made of sustainably harvested wood from family owned tree farms (that shows some serious commitment to be eco-friendly!) They also offer the most glamorous shades, from trendy nudes to edgy fuchsias and pinks, and even some classy, chic reds. I just could not wait to try them!

The shade I am showing you today is called For Real* and it is described as a bone clay, putty color. I see it as the perfect nude shade with a twist. Because it is a nude, yes, but not a boring one. With a beige/bone base color and pink/mauve undertones. It’s almost as if beige and lavender colors were mixed together. The overall tone of this shade is cool, but it is one of those neutral shades that I think would work on most skin tones. I find this shade to be so unique and chic.

The formulation of Sheswai lacquers is so great. One single coat goes on opaque and gives full coverage, so I only do the second coat if I need to fix mistakes from the first one. It dries very quickly and leaves a pretty glossy finish. In the photo above I have not used any base nor top coat.

Sheswai For Real retails for $16 on Spirit Beauty Lounge. Like Butter London, it is definitely more pricey than the average nail polish, but I think that it is a really high quality product, and that for me makes it totally worth it.

    ooo-la-la I think it’s winking at me too…

    • They’re just so pretty! And so many fabulous shades! :)

Thank you for your comment, x

pretty! I love the look of short, well-kept nails – classy : ) I haven’t tried this brand, but your description of the coverage makes it tempting. And a good neutral is a challenge for me, so I’ll have to check this out. I’m a Zoya girl, but I also like RGB and Mineral Fusion. They are all 5-free, I’m pretty sure. And they last through several days of mom-level dishes, cleaning, and laundry. But, usually 2-3 thin coats are needed, depending on the shade. I’m typing this as I wait for my RGB in black to dry!

    • Hi Rebecca, thank you! :) I just can’t let my nails grow any longer, it would make me pretty uncomfortable, even though I have pretty short and round fingers, lol! I have been a Zoya girl too for now about three or four years, but I had read so many good reviews about Sheswai I just could not wait to try these! The formulation was the best part because they are indeed really opaque and dry so quickly. Of course I like 5-free better, but I like these Sheswai so much!

I am always happy to hear from you :)
