RMS Beauty Eye Shadow in Karma

RMS Beauty Cream Eye Shadow in Karma Review Swatches PhotosRMS Beauty Karma

Whether you are new to “natural” and “organic” cosmetics or you are a green beauty veteran, you probably already know RMS Beauty, at least because of the wonderful work of Rose Marie Swift. Every time I stumble into a fashion campaign that she has worked on or a Gisele red carpet event, I cannot help but to stare at the talent demonstrated. I will say that I am just as amazed by her makeup line.

Karma is one of the RMS coconut oil-based cream eye shadows. The color is very unique. A dark brown with a subtle silver shimmer that looks more like a satin taupe when applied lightly, and more like a rich blackened-brown when applied heavily. I think that Karma is what every smoky eye lover needs in her makeup bag. You can use it alone for a quick luminous smoky eye look, as a base for a stronger look topped with another cream or powder eye shadow, or even as an easy liner. I find that Karma makes a great substitute for gel liner, looking equally shiny and intense.

Being a hooded-eye gal, I am not the best candidate to talk to you about creasing issues, because almost anything creamy will crease on my eyes, and this one is no exception. However, I am very pleased that this shadow stays put on my eyes for several hours without fading. Actually, the very first day I wore it I was going out in the middle of the day. It was sunny and bright outside, and I looked in the mirror of my car to check on how my makeup looked, and I realized I had put a little too much! I tried to remove some by patting with my fingers, but the shadow just would not come off! This was very surprising to me because I read in some reviews that for some people it was not long-wearing. My suggestion is to set it with powder, and I highly recommend the RMS Beauty Un-Powder, (will blog about that one soon. Edit: check out my full review here). If applied correctly, a good setting powder can make a huge difference.

This eye shadow has quickly become a favorite of mine, and I plan on trying these other shades next: Magnetic, Seduce and Lunar. I know that Magnetic is very popular, so if you tried it, please share in the comments below about your experience. I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

You can shop the RMS Beauty eyeshadows here where you can find the new Swift eyeshadows as well.
