Pai Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream

Pai Hand Cream Review

Up until  a week ago I was in terrible discomfort because my hands were super dry and chapped. I was using Waxelene every evening and that was helping tremendously with soothing my hands during the night, but Waxelene leaves a bit of a greasy film on my hands. Since I absolutely cannot stand having slippery hands during the day, I decided to give Pai Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Instant Hand Therapy Cream* a try, and it turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

Winter weather is very harsh on my skin. My hands & face always need extra protection, as they are the most exposed to the elements. For my hands, Pai’s Hand Cream works like a charm. It effectively hydrates, conditions, and protects them, but it does not leave any greasy film on them and does not have an offensive scent to it. It has a light-to-medium texture, but when applied it feels very rich and moisturizing. I just rub in one pump of product for about a minute until is completely absorbed. Not only does it feel lovely, but over the past few days my hands have completely healed and I have been needing to use it less each day.

Here are the magic ingredients:

purified water, grape seed oil*, vegetable glycerine*, avocado oil*, coconut derived emulsifier, rosehip oil*, macadamia oil*, shea butter*, plum kernel oil, sea buckthorn oil*, fragonia oil, palmarosa oil*, castor oil*, natural vitamin e, grapefruit oil*, basil extract, corn extract, coconut oil extract, sustainable palm oil extract, lactic acid (from sugar beet)

I love a good oil/butter/balm, but if you too are tired of slippery hands while carrying out your daytime activities, give this hand cream a try. You can find it at Spirit Beauty Lounge or at Pai Skincare (if you hurry, you may be able to grab one of their last gift sets that include Hand Cream + Nail & Cuticle Balm!)

Tip: Want to add a little extra somethin’ at night? Mix two drops of Pai Rosehip Oil to one pump of the hand cream and enjoy your perfectly moisturized hands.

Pai always scores, doesn’t it?! I bet this one is like (almost) all of their products – brilliant. Will have to try :).

    Happy holidays!

    • Hi Gita, you’re a right, it is a brilliant product! Highly recommend ;)

      Happy holidays! xx

Hi Lilly! Can you tell me more about the scent? From the ingredients it sounds like it would be fruity and flowery. I’ve been wanting to experiment with a cream, and I like the Pai packaging because you don’t have to handle the container a lot to get the product out. But, often Pai scents are too strong for me. (they make the BEST version of rosehip though!)

    • Hi Rebecca, I find the scent quite delicate. It is actually similar to their rosehip oil scent, but with a hint of citrus. However, I do find that most Pai products have a delicate scent for my nose! I also read other reviews and apparently most agree that it is not offensive. It also has the best hand cream texture that I have tried. :)

  • Hi Kristin! I use Weleda Skin Food and I agree that is pretty amazing at healing chapped hands. However, Pai’s hand cream is the only one I have tried that is effective at healing my hands and non-greasy at all ;)

  • Bev

I fully agree Pai’s hand therapy is wonderful. I have tired the richest creams/balms but nothing has kept my hands from being dry and sore as much as Pai with the bonus it isn’t greasy at all. If only they had a handbag size version too.

I finish every pump I have bought when normally I get fed up with a cream if it isn’t working or unpleasant to use. I have very dry hands and wash my hands a LOT!

    • Hi Bev, I have the same problem: dry hands and I wash my hands frequently, so I totally understand! I am glad you like this hand cream too. I actually do carry it in my purse, even though it would be nice to have a slightly smaller size.
Btw, which soap are you using to wash your hands? That makes a huge difference to my hands as well. Some soaps are so drying and irritating!

I’ve had a jar of this and really enjoyed it, I haven’t ever repurchased as I have some other favourite hand creams which are cheaper in price and just as good but I do often recommend Pai to others :-)

    • Hi Sarah! I remember reading about Pai’s hand cream on your blog :) Do you ming sharing which other hand creams you like? Also, are they non-greasy as well? :)

  • Eve

I love this hand cream! I got it as a free gift when I placed my last order with Pai.

This is an unrelated question but I thought you might have the answer. Are Diptyque’s perfumes natural? I’m having a hard time finding out..

    Thanks!

    • Hi Eve, thanks for your question. I don’t consider Diptyque’s perfumes “natural”, at least to my standards. Some of their products contain parabens and other questionable ingredients. If there is any perfume that you are particularly interested in let me now the name and I will take a look at the ingredients to give you my opinion/experience. If you are searching for perfumes made with organic and non synthetic ingredients, I highly recommend checking out the perfume selection at Spirit Beauty Lounge
