Monthly Favorites: September 2013

September Beauty Favorites

September has always been one of my absolute favorite times of the year, but this year I am very glad that September is finally gone! I was very busy and had my hands full throughout the entire month. However, my product-testing activity was prolific as I found new great products that worked really well for me.

Let us start with the MVO Pacific Oil*. I recently reviewed both the Pacific Mist and the Pacific Face Oil (read the review here) and they have been amazing for my skin. This oil does something really special to my skin, making it look plump, dewy and smooth. I love to have a few products I can rely on, so that when things are going wrong, (stress, lack of sleep, breakouts, products that do not work or cause a skin reaction) I can go back to my MVO oils and let them work their magic.

Right before starting to use the MVO Pacific Oil, I tried the Aurelia Cell Repair Night Oil*. After I began to use the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser, I surely expected to fall in love with more products from the line and indeed I did. This oil is very powerful and has made my skin look really great. While I cannot yet talk about long-term results (the sample I used was quite small), I can definitely say that it smoothes aging lines and gives a beautiful glow to my skin. It has an intense Neroli scent that I find particularly soothing and relaxing in the evening and the texture is rich without feeling greasy. I plan on testing a full-size soon!

Kjaer Weis Lip Tint in Dream State*,  Mascara, and Cream Blush in Desired Glow were also among my favorites in September. Sorry for the Kjaer Weis overload, but I truly love the products. The only one of these three that I did not write about (yet) is the cream blush and I should fix that soon. The shade is a gorgeous caramel-tan color and it gives a pretty glow to the skin without containing any shimmer. I like it so much that I just purchased it for somebody else. Great things are meant to be shared, right?

Zuzu Liquid Eyeliner in Raven is a product I have wanted to try for a while. After reading several positive reviews I finally picked one from Amazon and I am so glad that I did. The shade is a rich black, it is long-wearing but also very easy to take off. If you like wearing liquid liner and have had a hard time searching for a “clean” one that works, you will be celebrating with me!

Dulcis in fundoYarok Feed Your Volume Shampoo. You can read my review here. This shampoo really gives me that–much needed–extra volume. It is gentle on my scalp and leaves no residue. In my review I did not mention that this shampoo completely removes all of the oil that I use as a hair mask before washing. The result is silky smooth hair and no conditioner needed.

With that, I hope you all have a fantastic October! New stuff has already been purchased and to my surprise, I had the courage to get a new cleanser (*warning siren*) that I am starting to use tonight. There is something about changing cleansers that totally frightens me. In the next #FOTD photo that I publish you will be able to see how it went…
