#ManiMonday: Jin Soon in Kookie White

Jin Soon Kookie White Nail Polish review

I had been wanting to find a flattering, cool, white-ish nail polish for quite a while, but I was left quite unimpressed by the ones I tried. I do like pure white, but I get tired of it quickly. Kookie White by Jin Soon is not only a unique and cool shade of white, but unlike most white-based nail polishes, it also has an outstanding formula.

The color is not white; it’s more like the palest baby blue with a hint of gray. The color payoff is excellent: it’s opaque in one coat, although the second coat perfects it. Once applied, it evens out beautifully and dries quickly. Most importantly, it is very long-wearing. It comes with a very user-friendly brush that is not too long, not too fat, but just the right size (which helps a sloppy nail painter like me to get the job done).

Jin Soon nail polish is 5-free: it does not contain any formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin and camphor and is not tested on animals.

This was my first Jin Soon nail polish, but I definitely plan to get more soon. On my wishlist are the Power Coat and Top Coat next; the Power Coat has great reviews and is supposed to further the longevity of the nail color even more. The Top Gloss is a high gloss top coat that is described as quick-drying and chip-proofing. Then of course there are so many beautiful colors to choose from, starting with Coral Peony, Auspicious, and Blue Iris. I bought mine here,  but you can also check out Jin Soon’s official website. I will have more swatches and fun things to share about Jin Soon very soon ;)

Have you tried any Jin Soon product? How do you feel about white nail polish, yay or nay?

  • What a lovely color! I think it’s so fresh and clean and gives the impact of white, but more subdued.

Lately I’ve been interested in white as well – a departure for me. It’s hard to find a light color polish that doesn’t look odd with my skin tone, though. This one looks really interesting, and I love what you are saying about the formula. Looks like a good toe color!

I think i read somewhere on your blog that you don’t think the Treat Collection’s top coat is great. Can you be more specific? I just got back into nail polish and would love your opinion on what the best top brand is? And would one 5-free top coat brand work on all 5-free brands? I have Treat, Deborah Lippman, Aila, RGB, LVX, and Zoya polishes.

    • Hi Amy, yes, I have tried both of the Treat Collection top coats and while they do an okay job, they are not my favorites. My favorites top coat is the Priti Speedy Dry Top Coat; I use it with all of my nail polishes and I find that it dries quickly and makes my polish last longer. I wrote a post about it a while back, you can read it here:
