If you were growing tired of wearing the same lip color every day, you’ll be happy to know that Kjaer Weis launched not one, but three new lip tints. Amazed is a pretty, soft lilac color; Rapture is a bright fuchsia; Beloved*, the one that I am wearing in the photo above, is a rich, dark magenta.

Although they are called lip tints, the Kjaer Weis Lip Tints do not have much in common with most colored lip balms. Not only  do they moisturize, condition the lips, and make them feel comfortable as if they were lip balms; but they are vibrant and rich in color. They are not opaque, but they are very pigmented. In the pan they have a waxy texture, but are incredibly soft and apply smoothly, leaving a soft sheen. I’ll take the “pan” word back, because these don’t come in a pan; they come in glamorous, shiny, metallic compacts that look like bijoux and are refillable, so they are both glam and eco-friendly.

Beloved is a very unique shade of magenta: when I apply it in my bathroom mirror it looks like a violet color, but then I look at in the sunlight and it looks more like a light berry color. The color can vary slightly based on the application. If applied very lightly with a finger, it looks like a berry stain. When applied more heavily with fingers, it looks like a bold magenta color. I personally prefer to apply it with a lip brush because my lips are uneven in shape and need a little help to look more balanced. If I want a really sharp, polished look I use a lip liner like the Jane Iredale lip pencil in the color Berry.

As with all Kjaer Weis makeup, the lip tints are made in Italy and contain 95% of certified organic ingredients. The ingredients are very moisturizing (jojoba seed oil, shea butter, rose hip seed oil), so my lips never get dry or dehydrated. I usually touch up after drinking/eating, or after 3-4 hours, but when it fades it does so evenly, without leaving buildup of product at the corners of my mouth. This lip tint also leaves a light stain as they fade.

I think it’s pretty clear that I love these lip tints, and if you have been following me for while you probably remember that I have purchased a few in the past. My favorite one remains Dream State because I am a nude lip lover, but these new bright colors are a beautiful addition to my Kjaer Weis collection, and they are great way to brighten up my gray-ish, Winter complexion. While I am not the biggest fan of lip products that require fingers or brushes for the application, Kjaer Weis lip tints are the exception.

I will post some photos of the other shades soon.

Beloved, and the other two new Kjaer Weis lip tints are exclusively available at Net A Porter.
