Kjaer Weis Eye Shadow Review Swatches copyKjaer Weis Eye Shadows Swatches

Just when I thought that my neutral eyeshadow palette was “complete”, Kjaer Weis launched a new eyeshadow shade called Grace. In the photos of the makeup looks created by Kristin Kjaer Weis using Grace, it looked like a color I was missing–the perfect matte, light, neutral taupe–so I bought a refill for my magnetic palette. I am so very glad that I did, because it is the most versatile eyeshadow color that I currently own, and I am genuinely infatuated with it.

The finish is described as semi-matte, and is completely free of shimmer. The texture is soft and easy to work with. I even apply it with fingers, because it blends easily and is not too powdery; in fact, I don’t have any issues with flaking and fall-outs. It is also not prone to crease, (double points for that because I have hooded eyes), and it looks great all day.

The color is great mainly because it’s so versatile and if you have a skin tone from fair to a medium you will get a lot of use from it. It is quite pigmented, so I bet that it would even work well as a base lid color for darker skin tones. Kjaer Weis describes the color as a light mocha shade. It’s one of those neutral taupe colors that can be used on the lid, in the crease, and I absolutely love it to line my lower lash line. The interesting part is that I hate lining my lower lash line because I find it very aging and unflattering on myself, so I almost never do it. However I tried it with this color, and I love it. It gives me that very soft brown smoky eye, Alex Steinherr style, that is perfect for both daytime and evening.

Like all Kjaer Weis makeup, it’s a relatively expensive product, but I am very happy with it and will definitely repurchase it. You can find more posts about Kjaer Weis makeup here.

Lovely colour! I have it too and thought the same – just what I was missing and it is now my fave colour. I also like the new bronzer – good colour, not too red (rms) and not too sparkly (ilia) with the perfect non greasy texture.

    • Totally agree with you about the bronzers! I like how Dazzling is a bit dewy, but still wearable. Very natural looking :)

Do you think Dazzling would work nicely on fair/pale skin? :)

        • Hi Shannon, the model that Kjaer Weis used for the bronzer campaign has fair skin so I assume that it would work nicely :)

            Thank you! :)

you look lovely!! I too have SO MANY NEUTRALS! But they’re so gorgeous and flattering….

    • Thank you love! I agree with you. One cannot have too many neutral eyeshadows! ;)

Thanks for the review! When the new colour was launched I thought it could be used to fill blonde brows, to archieve a more natural look. Do you think it could also be used as a soft bronzer/contour for very light skin? I know it sounds strange, because kjaer weis already has a bronzer but i prefer a matte finish. Moreover, I am always looking for versatile products and make the most of my money. I have the kjaer weis blush in desired glow but it looks too orange on my cate-blanchet (or canterbury’s ghost) skin like.
    Love.

    • Hi Carmen, sorry for the delay. I think that you may be able to use Grace to contour your face, as long as you use a very light hand to apply it, and as long as you have a similar undertone. I don’t think that it would be a flattering bronzer shade, because it’s a true taupe color and it has a gray tone. However, for that reason, it can definitely be used to fill in light brown/blonde eyebrows. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions :)

  • ooo, i would think that in the pan, it might be too light for me, but compared to wisdom it is not much lighter! i really want to try this. I love it on you!

    • Thank you Joyce! I think that your skin tone is just a bit darker than mine and that we have the same yellow/golden undertone, so I am guessing that it would look lovely on you too, maybe just a bit more subtle?! Thanks for reading :)

  • These are DEF my fave natural eyeshadows. Kind of a sucker for the packaging as well ;) xo

  • Many neutral colors like this would otherwise not interest me, but this one is definitely special! It’s hard to describe, but it’s definitely gorgeous!

Hey Lilly! Love your blog! I’m from Australia and I too have a Mediterranean complexion (half Greek, half Croatian) and use MV Skincare on my sensitive acne prone skin. I haven’t yet tried Kjaer Weis products but have been dying too for ages! I wear RMS un-coverup in 33, but I’m not the best with coconut oil (I’m fine if it’s more diluted) so I want switch to Kjaer Weis in illusion. Do you think grace would be a suitable colour for my crease in a no makeup makeup look? Also, how shimmery are dazzling and radiance? Your blog is the best! You’re stunning! Thanks, Nadine :)

Hello there :) can I ask how Grace compares to Wisdom? I have NC25 skin (sometimes NC30) and I am looking for a taupe to line my lower lashes as I find the Kjaer Weis Onyx a little harsh for the job. Which of the two do you think would give the best definition? Thanks a bunch!

  • Melinda

Hi! Can you tell me what color of ganache lip balm you are wearing as there are so many to choose from. Please and thank you!

    • Hi Melinda, the Ganache lip balms are not tinted, but they come in different flavors. My favorite ones are Vanilla and Lemon, but they are all smell delicious! Thanks for reading, x

Thanks for responding! You are awesome for doing so. So hard to believe that it’s just the spice lip liner and the lip balm? Was wondering if you can tell me what color you are wearing in the picture where you are wearing the black shirt and it says lily – Italy meets America? Thanks again!
