Friday FOTD: Informal Event

I hope everyone is preparing for a lovely weekend! My neighborhood has been smelling like barbecue and freshly cut grass all week, and I am very excited about the transition from Spring to Summer. I took some photos of my current everyday, casual makeup. This would be a good look for any informal event like picnics, bbqs, etc.

On my skin After applying the Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Cream with SPF 30, I used the Gressa Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation, which is still my go-to for a polished but quick makeup look (it takes minimal effort to apply). As you may notice, I am still not using concealer because the foundation provides some coverage, and because I have not found a concealer that I love. I powdered using the RMS Beauty Translucent Un-Powder all over my face. I usually only powder my T-Zone, but spending the day outdoors requires a little extra powder to prevent looking greasy. I then used a Gabriel Cosmetics blush in the color Apricot (which I just repurchased as I had my first one for years). I think it might have been the first blush from a green brand I ever purchased! It is pigmented and easy to blend, and I love the bright peachy color. I did not use a bronzer, which is so unlike me, but I wanted to keep the look more simple and more fresh by adding just a pop of color on my cheeks.

On my brows I used a pigment that I got as sample with my Integrity Botanical Haul, the W3LL People Brow Pigment #913, which I applied with a dampened angled brush, and then I “fixed” the little hairs with a coat of Jane Iredale Brow Gel in Blonde. The brow gel makes the powder last surprisingly well.

On my eyes I first applied a tiny amount of Red Apple Lipstick Eye Primer and then I used the W3ll People Elitist Mineral Shadow #87 Luminous Taupe, which is the prettiest sheer satin/slightly shimmery taupe, (luminous, but wearable) and the Kjaer Weis eyeshadow in Magnetic. Pretty subtle look, but I liked it. Then I did something that I do not typically do: I lined my eyes with pencil, the Antonym Cosmetics eyeliner, and smudged it with the black eyeshadow from the Jane Iredale Getaway Eyeshadow Palette. I typically go for a more graphic feline flick, but I think that I may start to smudge my line more often because I like how much nicer it looks in photo and it’s more subtle. For my mascara, I used the Kjaer Weis on both upper and lower lashes, because it holds up really well on very humid days like these.

On my lips I am wearing my favorite combo: Jane Iredale Lip Pencil in Spice (perfect pinky-nude), the Nudus lipsticks in 27 Kisses, and the Red Apple Lipstick Lip Gloss in Honey Badger.

In case you were wondering, this is the makeup I was wearing in this selfie (before I did my hair), and yes, I know I am due a visit to a hair colorist, but I am going to do it as soon as I step on Italian soil(in a few months) ;)

What look will you use this weekend?
