Catch-Up #49

Catch-Up #49

I know, I skipped last week’s catch-up, last month’s favorites, and more. I have so much going on you guys! I was however, able to film a video that is now up on my Youtube channel (more details below). I hope that those of you who are celebrating Labor Day weekend are having a great time–whether of fun, rest, or both! Here’s a tiny slice of what I have been up to.

New hair care. In case you missed my last post, I have shared my first impressions about the new True Nature Botanicals Shampoo and Conditioner*, which I am liking very much. I don’t find them particularly volumizing, but I love how silky, shiny and overall healthy my hair looks, and I like that I get extra time in between washes. You can read the full review here.

New Rahua first impressions video. I was going to write a brief review of the Rahua Voluminous Dry Shampoo and Defining Hair Spray, but I thought that a video could give you a better idea of how the products work, so I filmed myself using them for the first time (and I may have ingested a little product in the process). If you were curious about these two products, or if you like a pretty strong Italian accent, click here to watch it on Youtube. Make sure to subscribe and leave any comments/questions and video requests, if there is anything you would like me to film.

W3LL People eyeshadow love. I have mentioned a few other W3LL People eyeshadows that I like recently, but there is one I am little obsessed with at the moment (because the color is so so pretty). It’s the number 832 Plum Bronze*, one of those plummy, taupes that looks great all over the lid. It is very luminous, but definitely not sparkly, and a very flattering shade of rose. My only recommendation/warning with these W3LL People loose eyeshadows is to apply them on top of some sort of base, preferably an eyeshadow primer. That way the pigments have something to stick to. This will help the product last longer/better. Other than that, they are pretty and apply smoothly. You can check it out here.

W3LL People Eyeshadow #832

Juara Face Serum. I admit that I had never even heard of Juara until I received two samples of their Clover Flower & Turmeric Serum with the August Petit Vour Box*. This is a very light serum with an extra light, lotion texture: feels hydrating (glycerin, sodium hyaluronate), but it’s not greasy (oil-free). It contains witch-hazel (which lately I have been re-evaluating as a beneficial ingredient, will tell you more soon), green tea (read here to read more about its benefits), does not have any obnoxious scent (it’s actually scent-free), and acts similarly to a hydrating primer. If you have dry skin you’re probably going to need a moisturizer with some oil in it on top so you can lock in the moisture, but it makes a lovely hydrating base, and it is perfect for people with a more oily complexion. I will order a full-size and give you a more detailed review as I use it more, but I thought it was pretty brilliant from the little use I got. You can check it out at Petit Vour (a luxury, cruelty-free subscription box). I will keep you posted about the other products in the box as I get the chance to use them.
