September Favorites Genuine GlowTreat Collection Nail Polish Dinner With Friends

I cannot believe how fast September went by. I am enjoying the slight weather shift and look forward to a chilly October filled with good seasonal foods. Sweet potatoes and Squash in particular (coconut-squash soup, helloo!). Before I get too much into what is ahead, let’s talk about the best in beauty from the past month.

Skincare-wise, I owe my currently clear complexion to YULI’s Liquid Courage. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I have not had a single blemish in weeks. I have even used the Liquid Courage as a morning serum, though I don’t usually opt for face oils in the daytime. I find that one or two drops of Liquid Courage applied onto cleansed and moist skin does not create an overly greasy base for makeup. I do, however, wait about 15-20 minutes to let the serum to sink in (brush teeth, fix hair, do something else in the meanwhile) and then proceed with makeup. It makes a very good base for the Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation, which needs moisture to go on completely smooth.

May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden* has also been one of my most enjoyed skin products. Besides the absolutely divine scent, (which alone, would be a good reason to use this mist), I also find that it does a good job at giving a quick boost of hydration without leaving my face oily.

Tata Harper’s Resurfacing Mask was much loved, too. As I have mentioned in previous posts, this mask is a skin-savior when a tiny blemish pops up. I just apply a tiny amount of this mask on the blemish and let it sit there for as long as possible. Usually, within a couple of hours the blemish is gone.

Another Tata Harper product that I have been enjoying this month is the Regenerating Cleanser. I have used a bunch of samples, (you gotta love the free samples you can pick from Spirit Beauty Lounge when you checkout!). I usually stay away from exfoliating scrubs as most of them are too harsh for my skin, but I wanted to at least try it. I ended up using it twice a week and will most likely purchase a full-size. However, I still avoid using it on my forehead, which is the most easily congested and blemish-prone area of my face. I had an awful experience  months ago, and I am still too scared to exfoliate the skin on my forehead.

Kjaer Weis Creme Foundation was my base product of choice throughout the entire month. The shade Illusion is a pretty good color match for my skin at the moment and it works well as a base for other makeup products that I have been loving: the Kjaer Weis Cream blush Embrace* and the Highlighter Radiance. I think that this will become the first “natural” foundation that I will use completely; which is a great feeling, especially considering how expensive it is.

I have kept my lip color choices quite autumnal and I am loving wearing Perfect Day in the daytime, and Femme Fatale and Ink Pot (wearing it in this post) for the evening. Perfect Day is a coral red, that applied lightly gives the most gorgeous, wearable, and warm red color. Femme Fatale and Ink Pot are both very intense and Fall appropriate, but also easy to wear when paired with a simple, neutral eye makeup, with black liner, and a touch of bronzer.

On my nails, I have been wearing the Treat Collection Nail polish in Dinner with Friends most of the time. This is oh-so perfect for Fall. It is a deep red that reveals a Fuchsia hue in natural light. Love the shade, the formula, and the bottle.

Finally, the Kahina Fez Hand and Body Balm* has been my go-to night time treatment for hands, cuticles, and nose. I find the scent relaxing and enjoyable and I like to take my time to massage my hands before going to bed. In the morning, my hands are soft and comfortable.
